Walks, talks and fits like a premium knife made yesterday!!:D

I am thinking spear, would love to hear the detail of the upcoming ?Wabi Sabi? lineup =)

Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete"

It's a spear with a lot of sharpening, but a lot remaining!
The walk and talk is excellent with pull a good 8 on the informal BF scale! Nice half stop, and I believe this knife was assembled way back when CCC was operating. Patinas match on the parts, with none of the "oops" signs of recent assembly. The parts may have been mis-matched leftovers, cobbled expertly.
I'll sharpen it and carry it around sometime, see how it holds an edge. . .

I like the TC on the single blade also. The soup bone just makes it that much better. I too hope to score one somehow someday!!!!

You're right the soup bone is a different league extremely pretty to my eye.

Great old Barlow Charlie, these old English Barlows are the definition of Wabi-sabi, very one I own or have owned has been imperfect, they pretty much have everything that would give a modern knife buyer fits, crudely made but to me so crude they are beautiful.
Function though has been perfect, even when used so much most of the blade is gone. Pulls have always been a firm 6 to 8, no blade play, perfect half stop, snap like an alligator. These knives were made to be used and even though the are 100 to 150 years old can still be used today.
Think Bill would go for a run of ancients with uneven bolsters, scales with gaps, liners with gaps, etc, that might give him fits:D

Nice MF&S John!
I don't think Bill would go that far though!:D

Did you carve that goon, Fred??

Thanks Jack and Charlie, love the old ones. This GF&S showed up today, really in nice shape with almost a full blade and the saw cut pattern nice and sharp. As with the others function is perfect, great walk and talk.
