What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

:) I only said that because a friend of my son's dropped one into our garbage disposal (many years ago) and that's what it looked like. It is a nice gift and sets off your twin knives well. (oh, and it looks like silver so it's probably worth $3).

Back to your sawcut clips, do they also have matching patina?

Haha ah sadly not, just checked the sides and no silver tehre ;__;
Nope~ one is nice and fresh and the other is my user. It's the one TC I've ever felt like I "had to have" after having many pass through my hands and go on to better owners.

MMMMmmmm gonna have to get out some ice cream for this cherry Charlie, looks fantastic~

Thanks guys for all the help. I'm sad. This knife is gorgeous and the size seems great. I guess I will start reaching out.

Some knife pics, these took blood and tears to finally get a hold of. Sorry for the crappy pics

Gorgeous knives and great photos, Dave. Long pull spear 15s are very hard to get. I particularly like the ebony TC Barlow. :thumbup:

Beautiful hard to find vintage Barlows Atiger:thumbup: I especially like that S bolster Schrade. Can you post a photo of the primary blade tang stamp on that one? Thanks, Lloyd

And while we're at it, here's the stamp on the pen blade. This is what made the knife interesting to me. Both very old tang stamps from the same era but different on the same knife. Was the main blade replaced at some point? Was it a "transition" knife, as you suggested, where they were using up the blades they had on hand? I've only seen long pull main blades on single-blade "S" types which led me to think it had been replaced at some point but both theories are viable.
