What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I love that bird's eye view shot of the mis-matched one. It kind of reminds me of a yo-yo with two different colored halves. I would buy one if they did a run like this.

Walking along in the woods today, I kept seeing this picture in my mind's eye:

What a pair! Add my appreciation and congratulations to you for having the knives now, and your heart to pass them along to your sons.

Thanks Sarah  When I took the picture with one blade over the other, I thought of my Boy's with one arm over the shoulder of the other brother:)

We are having record heat here, since Friday.
My knives are in danger of melting!
So am I!!
That beer looks awful good from where I sit!!

So does the barlow!!:D

I will say the new spear point Charlows are as near to perfection as I have seen. Perfect pull, full access to blades (although I have no issue with the older spear with the nicks on the same side) and smooth as glass. Another winner Charlie!

Thanks Dave! I'll pass along the praise to where they come from!

Do knives really resemble their masters?

How charismatic, those little devils have formed a cult, and I'm thinking of joining.

My only showables thus far

Nice-looking later Wostenholm there Lyle. I can remember them being sold boxed with a wee steel.

Just got the ebony Spearpoint in the mail today, and I'm loving it already!

(Not sure if the image will work, as it's my first try.) There it is, sitting next to my clip TC, which hasn't come out of my pocket since I got it. Until now! :P

Great pair o' knives, and congrats for getting the picture posted in one. It's not intuitive, but so worth figuring out as the means to see and share these knives.

It looks like you and your TC Clip have already spent quality time together.

Hey Charlie, just checking to see if you got my money order for the pile side pen ebony. Haven't heard back from you on email, thought it might be a problem with my Gmail account.

Thanks

Dan

Today I received the final Ebony Charlow which I needed to complete my Ebony Wood TC Barlow collection! This is the one I have been gunning for since the start, and it is absolutely my favorite out of the seven that I own. It's the 2 blade with Macassar Ebony Wood (which is one of the pattern production premiere knives from the first release). If I had to choose just one, this would be it. Fit and finish is fantastic, smooth, and tight. The wood on this is amazingly dark and smooth for the Macassar Ebony handles (My single spearpoint Macassar has very nice distinct brown lines throughout while this one is darker and more uniform with subtle browns). I really do feel like I found my grail knife with this one. I can't thank you enough, Charlie! This will be my "keeper" knife without a doubt.

Sorry for the quick cell phone pics, I just had to share. I will take nicer photos of my whole collection later...

Awesome... I am glad you have your grail knife, I too absolutely love my Ebony Barlow, its a beautiful carry, I can get the blade hang-of-a-sharp, its the single blade version, from the first batch, and is a keeper for sure!

I had an opportunity to buy a Gabon Ebony Charlow on the exchange no more than a week ago, I passed on it, and now I'm kicking myself for passing up the opportunity.

I saw that one for sale as well. If I hadn't just picked up 3 other charlows, I would've jumped on it. The Charlows don't go up for sale too often, so when you see one (any one), I would snatch it while there is still a chance because they don't last long in the classifieds.
