The only criteria I saw was you need to send in a picture holding a Busse knife, period.
For the record, I never said a person had to go to The Blade Show to be a true HOG and the on-line HOG induction didn't bother me either as I know some would never be able to attend, especially the ones out of the country. I of course don't make the rules, but I can still have my own opinion. Ever wonder why you don't see many of the older Busse collectors post anymore?

Well, since our posts are being censored and edited, the top quote was not the quote I was commenting in the post above. I guess if I you can't post what you want without being worried if it will be censored/edited, I guess it won't be worth coming here any longer.

I edited it because it was a personal attack that warranted a serious infraction. I didn't want to see our friend Guyon get an infraction, so I edited it. . . . 'Nuff said.

And, you are correct Tim, you are not allowed to "post what you want without being worried if it will be censored/edited" . . . Certainly not if it violates BF rules.

Fair enough, Jerry. I appreciate the phone call, and as I said to you, it's your forum to do with as you see fit.
I'd like to point out, however, that I never named names in the now-edited post.
A frequent poster here raised the issue of behavior with respect to the original post and "what makes a HOG."
I presented him with a laundry list of behavior and asked him if he thought it constituted HOG-like behavior.
In my mind, I was on topic and responding to concerns about how HOGs behave.
I'm sorry that my post even required moderation. I try to be a good contributor to Bladeforums in general.
 
It was very kind of you, Jerry, to extend the official family tag to others. Thank you for everything that Busse Combat, Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat does for the community.

It's unfortunate that sometimes things get overblown, but, we all learn a little bit each day from life.

To me, the HOGs that I have observed are generally fierce to all parties at feeding time around the troughs, enthusiastic about the Busse blades (regardless of how many they may own), perhaps a little reckless (unabashedly so) with finances towards that pursuit, but genuinely warm to their peers that share that passion. I have met several of the folks, am indebted to several, and have helped several.

This is a great community of common interest.
