What pattern would you like to see in 2016 as the Trad Forum Knife

A SS fixed blade would be a winner. Something along the lines of the LT patriot but at 6 1/2, 5/8 tol...some snake wood, snakeskin

I keep coming back to this. I need one. :D Given that GECs 47 and 74 patterns are similar I'd image it would require minimal new tooling. I'll take mine in coal black ebony and don't even think of putting a lanyard hole in it.

(3) Carpenter's Knife.

I like everything about this knife. Sobelly or Lany's clip was my vote and this is a nice version.

A lot of companies make/made a whaler pattern (to name a few... GEC, Queen, Rough Rider) so it's not really "unique". But no company has made a sowbelly whittler with a split backspring. Sounds good! Here's a custom...

Almost stoned you for implying that barlows need to be "slightly modernized" to be useful. ;)

Very fun to followt his thread!
The very same happens on the other (french) forum I am attending to. The problem seems to be partly solved (we are less numerous - last year 45 knives made - and have some members that can cope with the job).
After 31 pages it appears that it will be made by a young cutler, Adrien Giovaninetti - starting his own business near Thiers, what a surprise! :D -, the shape seems to be definitive but the choice of steel, handle material, numbered or not, etc. will give us somme food for thought at least for a good few pages!

A peanut with a punch secondary. Also known as a PunchNut!

This. It kind of personifies some areas of the forum and what happens to some members. Moreover, a small knife would be different from the rest of the years...that I've seen.

I like those!:D
Must find out more about them. Oh boy there I go.
Like I need another knife:eek:

Wow, those are nice! :D How about one of those for a forum knife??

Those are very cool little knives. I have to say that I would definitely be happy to have a little fixed blade like that as an option. It would make a great little petty knife.

Even better, although I'd prefer a USA made blade for a USA based forum. Just my opinion.

I don't think I'm biased one way or the other. The internet has a way of breaking down borders, and we have a lot of active members from all over the world.

(If we get a knife this year :o), our pickins are slim for US manufacturers. Aside from Case (who even Charlie couldn't get to respond), we already have examples from the rest.

I think it would be really cool to have a non-typical pattern from some other part of the world, and would love to see more examples in this thread!

GEC 55 w/ wharnie!

This would be excellent, feasible and if Barehead - something different. Keep the Hound's Tooth shield though.

Jolipapa Those French knives look outstanding, I could get interested too....

Regards, Will
