What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thats sweet, pointy, sharp and solid again. Love bringing old gems like this back into service. Using them far exceeds the pleasure I get from using modern tackle.

One you might enjoy.
No snap, wobbles, chipped and tipped blades, broken ivory scale. A mess:)
Glued/sanded the scales, edges, points and peened the slop out. Still no snap but I love using it!
That's fantastic!

Case Barlow and an old Leatherman Micra I carried in my long retired tool pouch...was job specific when I did electrical 20+ yrs ago and worked so well on these certain Zip Ties we dealt with:thumbsup:

Note: Not the original one I carried, this has the new logo vs the old, the original is in the console of my truck :)

Handsome Barlow, Paul.

My dad really liked Leatherman. He kept one of their older-style large models in his briefcase. He always seemed to have a Micra around as well. I have the leather snap pouch that came with the larger model, but I don’t know what happened to the tool itself.

I gave my father-in-law a Micra years ago when my wife and I were dating, and I think he’s been through a few of them now. It always pains me to see the state of the knife blade on his, he beats the snot out of them. 😁

Thank you for the compliment mbkr mbkr , I am sure Tony would just call the color brown! He was a straight talker and let his knives speak for themselves. And they sure do. Whenever someone asks the perennial question, “if you could only keep one…”, well, you are looking at it.

No other knives are like Tony’s. They have a liveliness to them the rest do not. They even have a unique sound when they snap open. To me, it is like a tuning fork or the ringing of a bell. Maybe that is why he called the good ones “dingers!”. And as good a knife maker as he was, he was an even better person. There will never be another one like him.

Wow that is stunning. I can see why it’s your #1. What’s the closed length on that one?

Today’s carry started last night as I was headed to bed. The work phone rang and I was out the door about 8:45. I made it back home today Bout 1:00 PM. Tossed the mini trapper in my pocket when I left. It never saw any work, but is a nice comfortable knife to carry.

Sometimes someone’s photo influences what I choose for the day. Other times, I’ve already chosen, and someone else’s photo assures me I’ve made the right choice. This is one of the latter.
I’m talking about @dave308ek’s post about USA Shrades being closed out for $5.
Two Old Timers are in my right front pocket today, because it’s Twosday. And Trapper Tuesday.View attachment 1672620

While outside to take a sunrise lit knife photo, I checked to see how my food pantry liked the 28f temperature.
This row of arugula and romaines, not too much. We’ll see if it perks up later today when Mr Sun gets off his butt. You can see the romaine that I decapitated for last night’s salad...View attachment 1672618The peas seem to have shrugged it off.View attachment 1672619
Happy we both made the right choice's Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund  Old Timers always bring back old nostalgic memories for me :)

Nice knives and beautiful gardens as usual.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, the Böker is pretty much always on me, since it's in a slip attached to my keys. The Proper is what's been in my pocket for a week or so, but I work from home, and the A. Wright and the BF2021 knife have been out on my desk this week. I've probably done most casual cutting (opening a package, trimming string, etc.) with the Proper, but I've used the BF2021 for a bunch of food prep - gotta get that patina happening.

I had just got done giving her an apple and decided to snap a quick shot and she smelled the juice on my knife and tried to take a bite out of it. Ended up being priceless captures 😂

I really love this knife and the 83 in general. Thinking about turning my stag 83 into a user next.

I was thinking the exact same thing (well, except the “blimey” bit 😁), but being several days behind, I knew someone would have said it already.

That's a real indicator as to which knife you trust/rate when its instinctive like that.
