What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

1636295360832.jpegThe lovely Schrade 12OT.😥
I lost mine this past spring somwhere in the garden. No matter what “main” knives I’d chosen for the day, I always had either the little 12OT jack, or this Peanut in my little change pocket. Somewhere between the wheelbarrow work hauling compost and shuffling down the rows on my butt or knees putting in transplants, it fell out.
As punishment, and a bit of worry about lising another, I quit carrying one in that little pocket.

Gonna go back to it with the Peanut. Wish me luck.7F2ED077-7BA8-4674-BBA4-B05BB463A5D2.jpeg

When it comes to commenting on posts that I think deserve extra attention, I'm so far behind in this thread that I've given up on catching up, even using my "at most one comment per page" catch-up strategy. I've read all of the posts up to the present, but I'm going to follow my Mom's advice to me when I was a kid going out in public and will only "speak when spoken to". o_O 🤓
The posts quoted below go back almost 2 weeks, I think.
Some great knives there Gary :)

Plenty of fruit-cakes here, as well as fruit! :D ;)
...
Thanks, Jack. :)
I know what you mean; fruit-cakes seem much more evident these days than they used to be. o_O 😁

I'm not a big fan of the Opinel knives, but that one is excellent.
Did you do the mods yourself?
Thanks, John. :) That knife came to me with the cool mods already made. Here's an Opinel #6 I did myself; my intention was a handle mod, but poor planning on that required that I modify the blade as well to keep it inside the "new" handle! 🤓

Thanks GT. I did have a grand time-mainly in front of the stove as the weather was torrential rain and mud-bath outside. We await the freeze to harden up the tracks. The Cat kept us entertained -NOT- by bagging a large haul of rodents, some of which she brought in alive to chase about in the warm before devouring the poor things...not for the faint of heart....
Glad you enjoyed yourself, Will!
The Cat's behavior sounds like it would have been popular entertainment back in the Roman Coliseum in its heyday! 😁

Very attractive Case Stockman, GT. 🤠
Thanks, John; the Case '47 stockman may be my favorite Case stockman in terms of size and blade combo.:thumbsup::thumbsup: (I like the sowbelly stockman better, but I consider that a different pattern than the "regular" stockman.)
