What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

When it comes to commenting on posts that I think deserve extra attention, I'm so far behind in this thread that I've given up on catching up, even using my "at most one comment per page" catch-up strategy. I've read all of the posts up to the present, but I'm going to follow my Mom's advice to me when I was a kid going out in public and will only "speak when spoken to". o_O 🤓
The posts quoted below go back almost 2 weeks, I think.

Well, MY Mom used to say “And where do you think we’d be if everyone did that?”

We'd probably have fewer arguments. ;)
My great-uncle Mark Twain is said to have said, "It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt."
(Twain isn't really related to me, and he probably didn't say that. There's a biblical proverb that expresses a similar sentiment (Proverbs 17:28). Interesting link about the sources of quotes like this: https://quoteinvestigator.com/2010/05/17/remain-silent/)

Yup... Looks like you grabbed the correct knife this time. ;) 🤣
Hope it's a good day for you, Jack. :)
LOL! 🤣 You too my friend :)
Happy Sunday All
Usual Lamb and a Case 3 Dot Stockman
Nice pairing John :)
Good-looking pair Rachel
I've moved my fire pit to the back of the house.
I need to move my small wood pile there too.
Look for some fireside pics next weekend.
Lovely photo of a beautiful knife.
I thought I was reading song lyrics there at first! :D ;)

Is the Schrade new Gary? That Gunboat is a great piece of history :)
Thanks for the gunboat compliment, Jack :); IIRC, you have one, too, don't you?
I've had the Taylor-Schrade canoe for several years, but I have so many canoes that most get posted only once or twice per year, so it's easy for the "casual observer" to miss one! 😲 ;)

That's a serious spring patina, GT. 🤠
Thanks, John; that patina was there already when I traded for the knife.:cool: I'd like to get a blade or two on one of my knives that had such a dark, uniform patina, but it would require using a single knife FAR more frequently than I currently do, carrying/using different ones each week.

Holy wonderful page full of compliments Gary! Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! :D:D:D
You're welcome, Dave; I really enjoy the many classics you post! 🤓

I always enjoy your diverse and beautiful collection of traditionals Gary!
That's kind of you to say so, Dave! :)
I tend to stick to the lower end of the price spectrum for my knives, but I'm more than pleased with most of them I have!

Three attractive choices there Gary :)
Thanks for your unswerving support, Jack! :):cool:

Nice knives.
The colors of the handle of the first one are very nice.
I like the Case too
Thanks for your generous assessment of the knives I posted that day, sir. :)

You’ve been given a very nice assignment this week Gary! Love that teardrop.
😎👍
Thanks for your "Home on the Range" perspective (where seldom is heard a discouraging word), Todd! 🤓
I need to carry/use that chestnut jigged bone CV teardrop more often to get some patina going; the same is true for several others of my Case chestnut family.

That's a great pic Gary :)
Thanks, Jack; the ebony Guardian knives are very photogenic! 🤓

What else do you need? 😉👍

Nice photo of a great little knife Gary. 😎👍
Thanks again, Todd. :) I agree that the Vic Cadet is a great little knife, although I think I'd prefer a pen blade to the file. (I like having a SAK file available, but I always carry a Minichamp, so I already have one.) I like to take photos of knives with some water in the background, so I have to try to remember to take my camera and knife pic candidates with me when I go on walks to places that have creeks, rivers, lakes, or ponds.

Love this picture Jon, beautiful knives and I bet you are going to tell us that the harmonica was Stan The Man’s and he played “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” on it right before signing it and giving it to you! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, John. I agree with your views on the #66, small enough for the watch pocket but hefty enough to work above what one might expect for its size. I too would like to see another run of these. I regret not grabbing a tortoise shell acrylic handled one and they lingered on the shelves awhile at the time of release.
So Greg, it’s good to know that I’m not the only one that regrets that. 😊

Great blade assortment there John. 😊👍

Thanks, can’t wait to see those pictures. 😎👍

Chestnut bone and patina…water and photos…these things are made for each other. 😊👍
