What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That's frustrating... That's why I like Amazon so much. ;)

That is an absolutely beautiful #15, you're a lucky man to be Totin' that gem today. 🤠

Yup... Looks like you grabbed the correct knife this time. ;) 🤣
Hope it's a good day for you, Jack. :)
Thank you John, took me awhile to come back to post this:oops: Sunday, just happened 😁 Nice duo your totin

I couldn't actually leave that sweet little Schrade at home though...gotta work on that patina 🤷‍♂️😂

Very cool knife! I had to do some digging and only found two vids of how that mechanism works. I am still wondering what the actual mechanism that allows the blade release, and capture works. Anyhow, congrats on that beauty.

It's basically a lockback/picklock that locks closed as well as open, notches in the tang with a hook on the backspring. I actually peened the closed notch a smidge last night, it had a slightly proud tip...I was able to sink it safely below the liners and didn't have to sacrifice blade length by grinding the spine👌😉

Thanks, and kudos for your fix. These things caught my eye years ago, I have been very curious about them but never saw any pics or posts about them in my browsing. Again, that is a really cool knife.

I'm going to follow my Mom's advice to me when I was a kid going out in public and will only "speak when spoken to". o_O 🤓
I have been following that advice also since I read so many people on the annual bladeforum knife thread saying, and I am paraphrasing, that there are so many trivial comments from people who do not contribute. But so many great knives and interesting posts that I feel compelled to join in.
You're welcome, Dave; I really enjoy the many classics you post! 🤓

That's kind of you to say so, Dave! :)
I tend to stick to the lower end of the price spectrum for my knives, but I'm more than pleased with most of them I have!

Thank you Gary!
You should be more than pleased as they are beautiful as well as functional, I love the canoe collection as well as all the others.

Peanut for me since last Monday has been a Taylor-Schrade 72OT:

Terrific trio Gary :)
Thanks for the gunboat compliment, Jack :); IIRC, you have one, too, don't you?
I've had the Taylor-Schrade canoe for several years, but I have so many canoes that most get posted only once or twice per year, so it's easy for the "casual observer" to miss one! 😲 ;)
I do have one of those Gunboats my friend, it was a thoughtful gift from @scrteenedporch :)
I'm already putting my new A. Wright to good use.

Thank you very much buddy, I hope you had an excellent Sunday yourself :)
