What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It is supposed to be at half staff until noon, and then “raised smartly” to full staff. But this pole doesn’t allow for that.9F9C440A-10C5-4783-B105-3AA929B19891.jpeg
If you, my friends will induldge me, I will again show a couple of photos of my late son, Jason. Unlike some of his best friends, he made it home after his tour. Sadly, the TBI ~ traumatic brain injury that came from a close-call explosion took his life in 2017.7523A58E-3F6F-4AFC-8DE5-4ABCD9883304.jpegThis is my favorite picture. A happy moment with the beautiful kids of Argendab. The only thing he specifically requested in our care packages was pens and note pads for these kids. Of course, Mom’s cookies, but they had to have been pretty stale by the time they got there.23137276-26CF-4E6B-B704-573DE01A07DF.jpegMy knives today~ two WWII vets. Thank you for sharing. For what it’s worth I am sorry for your loss. We are indebted to your son’s service and sacrifice. Your family will be in my thoughts as we honor him and others this Memorial Day.

A handsome young man Jeff. As I said in my PM, I'm thinking of you, your family, Jason, and Manny today.

Very nice!
Awesome knife setup and picture, Todd!

Very striking, Jeff. We are tremendously blessed that people like your son are willing to take up arms and lay down their life for us.

It's hard to find the words Jeff, but, I have a son and a grandson and I can relate to what you must feel or how I might feel in your place. Pride and sorrow. It must be tough. 😞
I had a first cousin that spent a great deal of time in Vietnam and on the front lines, U.S. Army Infantry. He survived Vietnam, but, Leukemia took his life when he was around 40. I recall times that he would occasionally mention the Agent Orange and Napalm bombs. 😞

Yes! We usually catch and release anyway so it's all for fun.
Great stuff Gary :) :) That chair must have been a welcome find too! :D :)
The chair was sitting on the creek bank, no one around, not near anyone's home or camp. I think it was put there just for me! ;)

Carrying these for Memorial Day. Have a safe and happy one.
This day always makes me think of my Uncle Johnny, who died on Omaha Beach on D-Day. I didn't know him but I'll always be grateful for his sacrifice, and that of so many others. RIP Uncle Johnny.
