What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Don't need a Steel Thumbnail to open this Barlow
Thumbnail was gifted with unrelated purchase so there it is
It works great for lifting pop-tops too ... don't need it for that either

I have had one of those AG Russell steel thumbnails on my keychain for probably 10+ years … I don’t generally need it for knives or pop tops either, but it does come in handy for prying other stuff! Cool to see another one.

It is supposed to be at half staff until noon, and then “raised smartly” to full staff. But this pole doesn’t allow for that.View attachment 1831844
If you, my friends will induldge me, I will again show a couple of photos of my late son, Jason. Unlike some of his best friends, he made it home after his tour. Sadly, the TBI ~ traumatic brain injury that came from a close-call explosion took his life in 2017.View attachment 1831846This is my favorite picture. A happy moment with the beautiful kids of Argendab. The only thing he specifically requested in our care packages was pens and note pads for these kids. Of course, Mom’s cookies, but they had to have been pretty stale by the time they got there.View attachment 1831845My knives today~ two WWII vets. Camillus and Pal~View attachment 1831850
As many photos and stories as you want my friend.

Cool beans :) ... Maybe I'll leave the Steel Thumbnail married to this 58mm Rambler (works with a Classic too, among others)
It does provide some extension leverage / finger grip when using the little Victorinox for one thing

The chair was sitting on the creek bank, no one around, not near anyone's home or camp. I think it was put there just for me! ;)

Carrying these for Memorial Day. Have a safe and happy one.
This day always makes me think of my Uncle Johnny, who died on Omaha Beach on D-Day. I didn't know him but I'll always be grateful for his sacrifice, and that of so many others. RIP Uncle Johnny.

Definitely Gary :) Here's to your Uncle Johnny, and the brave men he fought alongside

‘Cookout’ at the park was a success; kiddos had a blast and we got to see some of our Bible study friends.

H10 cut up all the chicken and the patina has begun. I also spilled my coffee on the sheath… so that patina has begun as well! 😅
