Rusty Shackelford, your Queen canoe looks very much like stag to me, not jigged bone.

Hmmm... Looks like stag to me.it's jigged bone from what I gather looking around the web.
Queen used a quite a bit of derlin stag, it could be that. Without holding it it's hard to tell.Hmmm... Looks like stag to me.
Short line Sunday?

Be blessed. It’s Sunday.
That's because it is. I'd stake just about everything on it. Who does such a thing? Goes on the internet and tells lies like that. Hoping some wise old timer will come along and tell me more about this knife. Maybe someone who was around when the company was still in business.Hmmm... Looks like stag to me.
Thanks for the tips#64 pattern, it's right on the blade. D2 tool steel, it will take a little longer to get an edge but you can get it very sharp once you do. Check the tang stamp against a stamp list for production years. Do a search on the forum to find the list.
I believe thatRight, but i believe it's jigged bone from what I gather looking around the web. I guess Queen cutlery co. Is now defunct. I have another pen type slip joint from this company, not sure the number though.
My kind of picture. Just love to see knifes actually toted as the thread suggests, especially in the woods. Well done.Went camping this weekend, JK Hiker’s Backup was only knife I used. Just warming some water for morning coffee, I like the Starbucks Via instants (pic cross-posted to JK sub forum).

Both very cool, Gary.Yesterday I forgot to post the last 2 "kitchen knives" I'm carrying this week: a Jack Black SFO rosewood Hartshead Barlow and an Italian bubinga agricultural knife:

I haven’t heard of him but the knife looks really nice.Copper theme today with this Jason Good custom. OD green micarta with copper liners and shield. Somewhat similar to a Northwoods Heritage Jack.

Absolutely, as long as there is a side of meat with it.![]()
Thanks, John. It’s my only stag knife and I really like the stag on it.That's a very special knife, Bart.![]()
Thanks, Gary. That’s very cool that you still have your first knife. I’ve never had a SAK with a knife but I’ve heard they actually work well.Yeah, vacation was nice, as always, and I was glad I was able to apply my risk averse personality to my knife photos experience.
I'll jump on the bandwagon of approval of your choice of a first knife for your son! My first knife, at about 9 or 10 years old, was my Colonial Forest-Master camp knife, and I can't imagine I could have had some other knife that I'd have liked more. It remained essentially my only knife until I was 62 years old (and then I went nuts on knives). I was stoked about the saw when I got my first Farmer as an old man, and there's a good chance I'll pick up a Farmer X one of these days, as well, to add the scissors to the "Alox tool box".

Well it seems like this knife was produced much more recently than I thought. I know the blade appears to be laser engraved but the tang stamp doesn't match up with any I could find. Its definitely post 80s but having a hard time nailing down the year
