What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gonna stay home and "fort-up" today. They're running more and more ads on the boob tube for "A Place for Mom" and "A Place for Dad". Looks more and more like they (whomever (or is it whoever) they are) are wanting to warehouse us old codgers and codgerettes in assisted living or in the loony bin. So, I'm locking all the side gates and checking the locks on the doors and windows. I'll be totin this Buck 112 LT for fortification duties today. "Tiny Tots" sardines and marinated artichoke hearts for lunch.

Rum ~ one of the three things that ran the English navy!
Allegedly! 🤣 One of them was a capital offence!
And not only a French Ivory thread, we need a Maize Pyroxin thread too! 🤪
I had to look that up! 🤣
I love the look at what the BF coulda been 😞
I vote you show JohnDF JohnDF how to put a patina on it!

Handsome and useful pair, my friend.
A shame :( I love the knife, but if I have a Lambsfoot with me, which I invariably do, it's the Lamb that'll get the use most of the time :D
I’m totin a pair of Camillus again ~ what I’m fairly sure is model 66, although it’s not stamped. Older ones were handled in Maize Pyroxin, aka: French Ivory, which I tried to mimic with smooth elk antler. Got it cheap online because the Delrin was cracked. And the real old Silver Sword Easy Open Jack, which I hooked fishing in the ‘bay. Grandpa, who passed about 50 years ago carried one of these for decades. It’s got a lot of sharpening wear, and a broken secondary spring, and I don’t want to use it.View attachment 1916371View attachment 1916373
I loaded the back of my car with vegetables to take down to Mom and Dad. View attachment 1916372
Earlier this season, I took them three tomato plants , and they are not ripening yet. Maybe I can figure out why.
Great pics Jeff :) I'm sure Mom and Dad will be thrilled to see you :)
Looking good Pete :)
Look what I Toted to work...

Ed, time to post two signs on those gates, “We don’t call 911 and If you can read this your in range”. 😜

DISCLAIMER: Not dad ... or mom to anyone ...
And no need to watch the boob tube unless trying to fall asleep
Back up plan is Armed Forces Retirement Home, Gulfport, MS
Although too, the VA is building a brand spanking new living facility right here in this city this year and next
Nice 112LT ED !!! ... I was a little disappointed how "blunt" the blade tip of mine is/was compared to my much older regular 112
Other than that minor thing, I'm delighted with the 112LT. It's an easy tote for sure

Great looking grouping. One pair probably more helpful than the other.

Awesome looking knives and harvest. Your garden is in overdrive.
Thanks, buddy.
I can’t keep up with the garden.
Look what I Toted to work...

Those commercials always make me think ~ hey! What about Dad?

Thanks, Jack! Yes Mom and Dad were happy to see me as well as the food. At fifty miles away, it’s just far enough that daily life keeps me from visiting as often as I’d like. I shoot for a couple of times a month, and this time, taking food was a good enough excuse.

Good morning back atcha!
If you get time, I’d love to see that belt knife unsheathed. The handle and sheath are beautiful.
Thank you! But I think you will be disappointed. I have already shown this knife here: knife
It is important to me as a memory of the master from my city who made this knife. It was my friend. In 2015, he made a series of "northern" knives with old Swedish and Norwegian blades. Knives dispersed throughout Russia. In 2017, the master died. And now, when I saw one of them in a flea market. I just had to return this knife to my homeland.
