I planted a Persimmon tree a few years ago. Now that it is producing, I do not know what to do with the fruit. Any ideas? — Geaux Tigers!! 🐯

Thank you for the advice calm calm , Sacto Sacto , and Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund . I have read your suggestions. I did not realize that they are crisp like an apple. I have kept waiting for them to soften up. I will do some experiments and report back. I am thinking of Persimmon pie, if I can convince my wife to give it a try.

Eat the fruit? The trick is to get the fruit ripe without making it too soft and unappetising looking, which happens if they rippen fully on the tree. They taste like dates.
You can pick them before they ripen fully and put them with apples to ripen, or in the freezer for a few days to soften. Remove the outer skin or eat the inside with a spoon
There are also varieties that can be eaten before they go fully ripe and soft.

The wood from the tree, I think, is especially dense and can be used for knife handles.

Mellowed just right, I believe. I always enjoy seeing that Whittler. 😍 You could probably get by with just that knife, for the rest of your life. 😲
See .................... you don't need to buy anymore knives. Come to think of it, you can just sell that old junky silver SAK with the sleepy lion to somebody.;)😲🤣🐲
Thank you, and I agree, that one would do just fine as my one and only … but … what about “Baby” … and my Pony Jack … and that lazy ass sleeping cat? … someone’s gotta look after them … it is a heavy burden, but one must soldier on … 😏
Great picture, it really captures the beauty of the knife. 🤠
Thank you, John!
😁

I say it every time, that Davison is great, Jack. 👍
Looks like the start of a great day... hope you have a good weekend. 🤠
Thanks, John. 👍
Thanks Bart. If you ever find your way to southern Illinois I’m pretty sure I could arrange a tour of our lake. 😄👍
Sounds good to me. 👍
Beautiful photo, best time of the day. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd.
Inspired by Jack Jack Black Jack Black to carry my Davison today. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. View attachment 1979367
The jigging on that one is great, Todd.
Thanks Bart, I do try to use them all or pass them on, unless there's sentimental value. I dig your Sunrise and N/A Scout pairing too!
Thanks, FC. I’m the same way, I don’t buy anything I don’t intend to use.

Most of my yarrow looks like this~F854B16A-C68E-4ED2-822C-3E1211B0B73A.jpegbut a few of them decided it was warm enough for another round of flowering ~ 15C81FE7-219B-40BE-A5F8-3F5A5F6D2969.jpeg One of my favorite plants, I’ve spread it around quite a bit.

Today, I’m using these two: a TL-29 modded into an elk stag single blade jack, and another single blader, a Case.42F8FD0C-608F-4243-B9AB-CF20AC5A77A1.jpegF7F599EB-5177-4CA4-8B7E-076C1DA2BC1E.jpeg

I’ll use the trapper for food , as I did with this cilantro I cut out of the garden to put in our eggs this morning. Along with green onions and cayenne peppers and BACON.B7B01A6E-5BEC-40BD-A8BA-75BB3345369A.jpeg
