Thank you. I am still trying to decide what to do for the final finish. It has fought me, every step of the way. It was like a baseball bat in the hand before I carved it. The blade is way down in the well when you get them. My suggestion is to just buy a finished one, strip the finish, and carve on it if you like, not fool around with the carve your own.

I heard about pine needle tea as a home remedy but have not tried it. Will any pine needles work?
