Ebullient ebony pair!
Thanks for the confirmation, and a Happy Christmas to you and yours, too!Thank you Gary...yes it is Ebony.
Have a Merry.
Thanks, Bob. Those photos are old, so they don't include all the lambs in my current flock. The horn lambsfoot is certainly a sentimental favorite of mine, but my experiences with that particular knife make me a little bit wary of buying horn covers - my horn lamb seems to be rather sensitive or delicate or demanding than my knives with other types of covers.Gary great corraling of some fine Lambs. The horn is my favorite
That straight secondary is a desirable feature IMHO!It came from the antique mall like that. Maybe my predecessor preferred the small blade till he sharpened it straight.
Thanks for the info, sir! (Although you probably shouldn't encourage my laziness by looking up stuff I should have looked up myself.)I had to look it up myself.
The Exchange in Bristol
A corn exchange is a building where merchants trade grains. The word "corn" in British English denotes all cereal grains, such as wheat and barley; in the United States these buildings were called grain exchange. Such trade was common in towns and cities across England until the 19th century, but as the trade became centralised in the 20th century many such buildings were used for other purposes. Several have since become historical landmarks.
In the United States, the Minneapolis Grain Exchange is still used to manage the commodities and futures exchange of grain products.
That Schrade is a handsome lockback!Pruner this morning.
Although I hear along the grapevine, my daughter tells the wife "he just likes sticks" implying I'm a bit of a Harry the hacker, How rude

That seems like a grand knife, Will! I've become a big fan of large, durable sheepsfoot single blades with wood handle. Did that knife have a blade etch that you've removed, or do you have another knife very similar to it with an etch? Who is the "little man" etched/stamped on the blade?Champagne cork for a stop-pin. Gouttière from France, a good rugged chopper. Could do with Primblization on that blade but I'm not a chemist

Thanks for the kind words! I feel very fortunate to have found that stag Buck canoe online several years ago, when I didn't even know that model existed. And I found it at an online store I'd never heard of located in Post Falls, ID (maybe they had some connection with Buck?) at a price that I thought was very reasonable. After I received the knife and was very impressed with its quality, I went back to the website in hopes of grabbing a spare, but they had none left. I wonder if I got the last one?Ref: "
Thanks for the additional info on your classy stag 303.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to see it, since I have a stag Buck canoe that was produced about that same time."
You're very welcome. I have the Wood (a gift) and Bone (a personal purchase) scaled versions of that imported Canoe series but cannot justify today's prices on the Stag model. I only wish Buck would move that Canoe pattern stateside. In the meantime, the imported Stag version is still on my radar, if I can spot one in my price range, that is. That is quite the handsome knife you have there 5K Qs:
I’ve had this one and another one over thirty years. I’ve never carried the other one, but this one has been great. I don’t know about the newer ones, but the lines on the clip point blades just look funky to me. I don’t care for their appearance, but that’s just my opinion. Maybe a Hubertus Springer expert could chime in with further information.I’ve been looking at those Hubertus lately. What do you think? They look great.
I totally agree on the new clip style. Love the old style like yours. I’ve never had much interest in autos but these have some charm. Awesome that you’ve had it for 30+. Over 30 years ago I was in Mexico with my family, they had one of these for sale for the crazy price of $60 US. I was a kid and I couldn’t bring myself to spend that kind of money if a knife, wish I had!I’ve had this one and another one over thirty years. Thanks Gary, I really like the Castle Burg Bokers. I wish he could’ve held on long enough to see his number retired and the Immaculate Reception celebration.Stunning pair of wood Bökers, Todd!
Condolences on Franco Harris's demise. I was amazed (and sobered) to find that he was only a year older than I am.

Until I read your copy of the Chronicle, I hadn't realized that NorCal had shook, rattled, and rolled recently.
Early in our relationship, my wife, who was not a big baseball fan, thought the team name was "Hated Mets", since that was how I always referred to them. I didn't even realize it was possible for another team to swoop in on Correa after there was a medical question.
Thanks for the confirmation, and a Happy Christmas to you and yours, too!
