What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My barlow started to tumble out of the lilac bush, spinning, and my first reflex was to grab at it. Fortunately, it happened in seemingly slow motion (due to the spinning) and I had time for brain reflex to kick in: "BAD IDEA!" Whew.

Phew! Glad you were OK :)

Two beauties there Barry

Great pics of a great-looking knife Peter :)

These two for me again today.

It being Sunday and all, I carried my blue bone mini copperhead:

but this afternoon, I'm going to be carrying this houndstooth:

Sorry about the knife falling Kevin. But, it certainly looks gorgeous now.

It's a dangerous thing, photographing a knife. Can be hazardous to knife and fingers, if the knife slips. Got a goodly gash once when I was photographing a knife. It slipped and out of instinct I grabbed it to keep it from falling. Wrong reflex. Glad you had better reflexes.

My wife got a nasty cut when she knocked over the knife rack in the kitchen and tried to catch the knives. Since it was a nice, clean cut and she got it sewed up promptly, it healed very nicely.

I remember as a Boy Scout sixty-someodd years ago being taught never to try to catch a sharp object, to just back off and let things transpire.

Anyone else out there remember that training?

Looks good now Kevin! The Opi's are so light to which doesn't help!

I've instinctively grabbed a falling knife too, ended up with a nasty cut on my thumb!:(

Your not kidding, Sam. This Cherry wood is insanely light (and its a little soft for what I am used to)

I waited to respond to this until I could get to my scale. I would say this one is a feather for the size :)

I go through a lot of patterns because I like to try them all out. But very few get carried other than this one, in my pocket for the last 6 months.

CASE Humpback Stockman in PW Harvest Orange.

Can't understand why I've overlooked this knife for so long? Very well-made (sunk-joints, cutout to access the Spey) compact, Spear Master makes it unusual too. An honest and decent carry!

Love it Steve  The fob, clip attachment, the covers, bail, everything!!!

Pardon my lack of knowledge on this one but are the back springs split?

Thanks,

Paul

I should've looked closer at the blades :o I just saw the swell and thought Whittler...

Regardless what a beauty

Beautiful old knife Jason. Congrats!

This one today. I love this bone as it looks very similar to real ivory or mammoth ivory.

GEC Tidioute "Huckleberry Boys Knife" in Smooth Ivory Bone

That is a really good looking knife. The smooth Ivory Bone looks great. I think this version might even look better as a clip than a spear.

I agree, and it looks like you'll have your choice of spear or clip, with or without secondary pen. The handle material looks even better in hand; pictures don't do it justice.

I do, but that's because I do that training with my guys every 6 months or so :D Just had three boys earn their Totin' Chit this past month. Good kids...

I was inspired to carry the pumpkin today:

There's a yeller Delrin single blade Camillus Yello-Jaket peanut in my watch pocket too.

Cheers,
Griff

I was about to shamefully admit none today when I stuck my hand into my pocket to double check and lo and behold I pulled out the BFC 2009 Queen/Schatt Morgan Barlow, I guess I can keep my folksy card. ;)
