What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Is that bone? I don't think I've seen one jigged like that.

Yes, it’s jigged bone. Only offered in 2005, as far as I can tell. Originaly the squares alternated red and dark gray. I inherited it from my brother and never had a chance to ask him what happened to the black. I personally like it better all red.

Background is cover to a dog bed, I think my dog was allergic to the disgusting filling that was inside it. So I’ll find something new.

GEC 15, Case Small Swell Center Jack today.

This 15 was once a Sunbrite Acrylic Beer Scout (153213EC); modded by Bob, BigBiscuit back in 2017. It’s also the reason why I eventually released my TC Forum Knife years back.

Thursday. The mailman kindly dropped off a new Peak Eiger led in black alloy right before dinner 🔦 Where I grew up around the Lake of the Ozarks we always referred to the last meal of the day as "dinner", and "supper" could be more variable possibly in the early afternoon even... mbkr mbkr maybe it's a regional thing?

Friday the new light requested a matching carry, s0 I had to carry the Davison again 😁 About to add the Beer Scout to the pocket and ogle all your knives. Cheers for a weekend on the Porch! 🍻

First class Mr.P.....wonderful background story. History....love it.
very nice knife and pics.
You're certainly toting an amazing and rare beauty Mr Primble! 👍👍
Wow! A true beauty right there.
Fascinating Mr P, what a treasure! I don't recall seeing another blade like that  Nice find :)
I’ll just echo the previous compliments.
I love that you have some history on that fine old knife, just wonder why a guy would part with it! Glad for you he did.
Beautiful!🤠

Thank you all the kind remarks and/or emojis. Maybe you guys detected that I was excited to get that knife. I am pleased to add it to my increasing in size, slowly but surely, Robeson collection. I reckon I can call it a small collection now, as this one made eleven old Robeson's. The "Pocket Eze" series of Robeson's seem to interest me the most.

I didn't learn the back story until after I paid for it. The grandson told me that he was selling part of his late grandfather's collection and that his grandfather had worked as a cutler at the old Camillus factory. He didn't tell me this, but, I suspect he inherited the collection. He also told me that he (the grandson) lives just down the street from the old Camillus factory (which made me wonder if he might have inherited his grandpa's house too) and that he actually watched the old factory burn to the ground. He followed by saying "that was a sad day."

I inquired further about his grandfather and he promised to tell me more soon, as well as send me some pictures of some nice old Camillus knives he will be selling.

The photos below are from the 1908-1930 catalog. I only have five pages of that catalog, but, have the full catalog headed my way. The top photo shows the same frame and punch as mine. The Mechanics knife, below it, shows a different frame and the same Carpenter's blade that is on my Craftsman's knife. Hoping that the full catalog will show my model.

Yeah, I don't know. Could be 🤔 I'm not that far away from the Lake. Up between Jeff and Columbia. Maybe you just know a higher class of people than I do :)

Very doubtful! Love it over your way, you're lucky to live in such a beautiful place. I was born in Boone Co, hoping to get back there along the Katy trail come summer.

Looks like you need to clean the corrosion off those wire terminals Mr. Ellis !
I sure hope your bunny don't get shocked ........... or worse ............ electro etched ! 😲 😉
Luckily no power running through this at this point! Just some spare internals for a welding machine. Looks like it has a few miles on it though.

Sensational pair Bob! Love the bone on these.
Me and this stockman are the same age, although it's in better shape than I am. Thought I would give it some pocket time.

The color on this one is perfect.
I just finished cleaning up and detailing this old Robeson Pocket Eze folder made for the Craftsman trade (not the company). The main spear is stamped and they made a similar knife that was stamped "Mechanic" on the blade. This one also has a short pointy carpenters blade and a nice punch. Fantastic snap on all the blades. I love the bone. I got this from the grandson of a cutler that worked in the old Camillus factory. All hammered pins places this in the 1920's or earlier era. The patent date stamped on the punch is April 25-05. I'm a totin' it today. 😊

What a treasure. I love that it’s a “CRAFTSMAN” but not Sears. So unique.
