Wow, a couple of magnificently covered cutters for your Sunday, Bob!Back to my Robeson routine...they all need some fresh air.![]()
Thank you very kindly, Gary!!! The NOS 30's blade is very well preserved and super slicey!Congrats on the gallant Gallic knives, JJ!
I have a barrel knife (in oak) with which I'm very pleased, and the history of the blades on the smoked oaks described on the seller's website, is fascinating. How does the "aged" steel on that oak knife seem?
Thanks a lot, Bob!!!What a display of classics JJ. They are well preserved beauties.![]()
Thank you, Todd. Was that a 68 you were carrying yesterday? Very sweet.Wow, that really is beautiful James, congratulations!

Decided to do a run of freeze dried apples this afternoon.
Start with a bushel of apples:

Peel, core and slice as many as can fit on the trays, which is about 1/3 of a bushel.

Load into freeze drier… and wait.

In about 48 hours, these will be freeze dried, and I will seal them in some Mylar bags. Shelf life is a couple decades, and these make great snacks for trips into the woods. I don’t have any more bags of apples, but here are some strawberries from last year as an example of the final product. Delicious.
