Thank you. Those are beautiful ~ art used to create art.
I’m curious if you ever need a blade with a rounded tip, like a spey, in carving?
Very sadCarving knife maker Gil Drake passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. Noone ever received one of Gil's knives and claimed it wasn't sharp I can assure you of that. I am fortunate to own and use several of Gil's knives. They are wonderful and rival any brand on the market. His son David has taken over operations of the business.
RIP Knife Maker.

Ed, I love Deviled Ham! It makes the best omelette fillingI had a very productive shopping spree at the Holiday Market yesterday. Stocked up on several items that I can chew with no problems. I really like the single pack Spam as I can fry up just a couple packages instead of having to open a whole can. Anyway, I got at least four of each item so, I'm good to go for a bit. Not shown is a couple packages of Blueberry Muffins. I can eat most normal stuff - shredded pork, pot roast, corned beef, etc. but that's not as fun as the junk food. I'll be carrying my Otter Messer Anchor knife today. Bunny #525 will be a stowaway in another pocket.

Thanks for the interesting tree ID, Mike; I knew I'd get in trouble trying to identify a tree just based on bark.Congrats!
Thanks GTI'm a couple years away from Medicare. I did have to fill out a survey regarding anxiety/depression/insomnia. I told her I work hard at living a drama free existence
Its a persimmon tree. It flowers, and for a brief period every year buzzes with bees - a friend once asked, "What's that noise?" as he stood under it - but it never bears fruit

Glad you're still getting some enjoyment from Bunny #496, Mike. I did a search to see what I told you about the wonders of 496 and found a post from 2016 (not addressed to you) in which I wondered if I could go an entire month in which I carried the same number of knives as the day of the month, with all different knives the entire time. I discovered that 1+2+3+...+30+31 = 31x32/2 =496. I thought you should know!Carrying Old 496 today.

Looking forward to your reactions to your new knives after you've had a chance to use them for a while.Three that arrived 06-07-23 demanded to be carried. Bunny 291 and the Case CV Canoe graciously agreed to cut their 06-23 pocket time.

Glad to hear you think your health is improving, Jeff. Thanks for the well wishes, my friend! Yes, three days on antibiotics is starting to help. I’m just glad the wildfire smoke is not as bad here as it is out east!
About that hospital bed ~ being able to raise the head is great, but what’s really comfy is being able to raise it in the middle, too to get your legs up.
We could make room on the porch for one, but let’s all try to stave off home health care for awhile!
That 88 is certainly an Ace, Pete!
Propitious pair, commendable couple, tremendous twosome, Steve!
I'll bet you smile in pictures when you're carrying that wondrous WCLF, Jeremy!Almost Friday.
