What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice :) :thumbsup:

I came home to a wonderful surprise in the mailbox yesterday evening from JonMcD JonMcD . My very own bunny (and first ever BF knife)! It’s not quite as fluffy as one would expect, but it will be a great companion nonetheless. This is a great pattern and I immediately understood why so many here liked it. Good size, no hotspots using either blade. Very snappy and excellent walk and talk. A gem!

Thank you, my friend, for this gift. It shall be cherished, carried, and used well - as you eloquently said - until I’m old and decrepit. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you as well and I echo all the things you said about me with gusto!

Fun side note. Jon and I were both in the process, unbeknownst to each other, of sending these knives to one another at the same time (Bunny/72).

Bunny and Hatì (whom I found again after losing him for the 5th time)

It was already put to use last night as well. Bunny VS Salmon? No problem.

I had these quotes ready for commenting on last weekend, but then life conspired to prevent that. o_O
But I'm a stubborn geezer, and I'm going to make my comments now, better late than never.

Supreme stag 83, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I always enjoy your canoe selection Gary. The Imperial is a real treasure.👍🏻
I appreciate your constant encouragement, Bob; I'm picking up good vibrations! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I certainly do Gary :) :thumbsup:

Thanks buddy :) :thumbsup:

That's cool, I'd forgotten that was a Father's Day gift :) Nice pic :cool: :thumbsup:

That's some collection! :D :) :thumbsup:

It is Woody Allen's film Sleeper Gary, made during his 'funny period'! :D ;) Thanks again buddy :) :thumbsup:

After the kitchen incident, he was excused babysitting duties! :eek:

When had you planned to have them removed Gary? 🤷‍♂️
Thanks for spending time to reply to my random musings, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Although I've never seen Sleeper, I can't believe I didn't recognize either Woody Allen or Diane Keaton in that photo! :rolleyes:o_O (And Diane Keaton was featured in the AARP magazine for geezers only a month ago!)

There was a discussion in some thread here recently about some of the infelicities of the English language, and I laughed at your question about my extracted teeth, Jack! 😁 I had written, "I had a couple of teeth removed early this year" and didn't realize the ambiguity in what "early" actually modified. I had intended to convey that the teeth were removed in 2023, but early in the year rather than just last month. But you interpreted that "early" referred to the removal, they were taken sooner than I had planned on. But my "plan" was to NEVER have them removed (until death do us part). Instead, one that had undergone 2 root canals and at least 3 crowns broke off (and I was glad to see that troublesome and expensive one go) and a lower left "canine" had to be removed due to "resorption", a new malady to me.

Thanks, Gary. You also did well!
:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Gary, thank you for taking the time to share that beautiful fleet of canoes.👍🏻

My sense of geometrical order is totally by accident.😃

What a beautiful set of knives Jeff. They are aging with panache.👍🏻
You're welcome, Bob, but sharing that old photo took almost no time compared to trying to set up a new "altar" featuring my current fleet. ;)
Maybe the geometrical order wasn't an accident, but instead it was instinct - maybe you're a natural! 🤓
"panache" is a nice word that I almost never use. :(

These two today. Trestle Pine was a generous gift from @Will Power. Came home from Texas and it was sitting in my mailbox. Thanks, Will 😃. '19 was a gift from Jack Black Jack Black . A wonderful pair in the pocket from two great guys. Thanks again fellas.

Congrats on the beautiful wood knives from a couple of generous pillars of The Porch, Paul! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Merci Beaucoup, Good Sir!!! Yes, fairly interesting wood. :) :thumbsup:
Thanks for the confirmation, JJ. :)
This morning I was able to pick up a package that arrived at work last Thursday, but I couldn't get to it. It contains a couple of French knives I bought myself with a Father's Day discount. I hope to post photos later this week.

Good morning everyone. Finally, the needed rain has arrived.

Notable pair, Bob! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
I really like that old lambsfoot that isn't what it used to be (just like me ;)), and I'm impressed by the size of your K'roo collection!

change-up Thursday … a Lion, a Baby, and a classy little pen …

That icy 88 is supercool! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Case Sowbelly Buffalo horn and one of my finest Case examples. No blade rub ,wonderful Walk&Talk, no gaps in the liners, Shield nestled in perfectly and pins .Jigging as the norm for case is beautiful and Smooth transitions everywhere! I wish I could shake the hand of the Guy or Girl who made this one . Thank you to them and Case!

Outstanding pair, Jack; majestic moose! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

This one has really grabbed me, never mind that I've had almost the identical knife for decades. The sheepfoot secondary must make a huge difference.

It's good to be smitten! 🤓:cool::thumbsup:

A hard thing. Hope all goes as well as possible 🙏

Thanks GT :) The 29 is one of my favorites :thumbsup:
The 29 has a very appealing blade combo, Mike! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Love the 48 with the big clips. Makes it a completely different knife IMO.

The Grohmann won’t be leaving the pocket anytime soon. I like the simplicity of single blade knives and this one is among my favorites - sturdy and utilitarian - a knife made to be used!!
Cool knife! What’s the closed dimension? What’s it comparable to?
The Frontier pairs so well with the 72. Now you’ll need to find the right fixed blade to combo with the C Green!

Thanks my man! Enjoy the bunny! It’s a great pattern. I hope you enjoy many great meals with it.

Always a pleasure my friend :) I suspect that even Diane Keaton may have aged, just a little :thumbsup:

We are heading to Eureka Springs AR for a three day weekend with friends. Live music, breweries and staying cool by the pool. Semi-special occasion so in addition to my usual Compact and Cobra, a semi-fancy Barlow will come with.View attachment 2228641
We saw three really good shows. Saturday night was 96 Miles, a darn good high energy cover duo with the addition of a 19 year old nephew on an electric drum kit. Sunday night was Shelley Watson, a Julliard graduate opera singer and foul mouthed comic - with a truly incredible voice and heck of a repertoire' of show tunes. Funny as hell and also high energy. Monday night was the high point with Sprungbilly, another band with the ability to get everyone out on the floor with their brand of top shelf bluegrass. Great weekend for sure.

I hope there is no test following this; at least make it true or false, if one is coming soon.😆
