What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This week's weekenders.

Ouch! Glad you did not lose the Peanut.
I always carry a peanut or similar sized knife in my watch pocket. And did lose a little Schrade jack through a hole I didn’t realize was there. When I commented on the loss here, two fine Porchsters offered to replace it as a gift!
Thank you, Jeff. It hit the floor as I was getting ready to walk the dog yesterday morning, so no harm done. I am impressed on a daily basis by the character of Porch members.

I generally carry a Peanut in the watch pocket of blue jeans. However I have not put on long pants in quite a while, and will stitch up the pocket of those shorts tomorrow.

You have all your cutting needs covered with style Gordon.👍🏻
Do I spy some Sennheisers to incase you in music?

Thanks! If I wasn't worried about losing them in certain situations and didn't like some of my other knives as much, I could be very happy with these 2 and a couple SAKs.

Yes, I have a pair of 5xx somethings for general listening and a pair of 660s for higher-quality audio sources.

Very nice (Case/Bose patterns?)

The Marantz is one of my favorites. I had one in the 70's nice warm sound. There's a shop near Gainsville GA that restores vintage stereo and amateur radio equipment. They do a fabulous job.

Thanks! And yes, the Lanny's Clip and Eureka Jack.

Love the older audio, I wish I had the money to find a restored tube setup. Might get a tube headphone amp one of these days. This one was gone through, tested, anything showing possible failure was replaced, old worn out items were replaced, lights updated to LED, yada yada. The old tuner brings in listenable stations digital tuners won't even recognize as being there. Love it. :) Too bad there's only one local station playing anything I want to hear.

These put out a sweet sound Gordon. I use Dan Clark Ethers with mine. Made in New York.
Tubes give such a luscious sound.20230812_162105.jpg

Yes, the Marantz tuners were excellent. Loved the blue glow and the tuning wheel. I ran some US made Bose 301's and a Dual 1012 Turntable. I eventually sold it and regretted it ever since. The tube stuff was always way too expensive for me.

Over the air stations of any interest are gone for the most part. I listen to old time radio shows on podcasts now.

Love the glow, almost as much as tube glow. Running a pair of Klipsch theatre towers I picked up on closeout late '90s. Not sure what'll replace them when they give up the ghost. Debating whether or not to grab a new replacement faceplate, knobs, buttons, and new reproduction wood case before the stuff becomes unobtanium.

There's still an "oldies" station that was '50s and ''60s that has now added '70s and some early '80s. There's a station out of Tucson I'd listen to, but too much terrain between here and there, even a boosted FM antenna can't bring it in. But yeah, generally OTA stuff is lacking these days.
