What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Love the glow, almost as much as tube glow. Running a pair of Klipsch theatre towers I picked up on closeout late '90s. Not sure what'll replace them when they give up the ghost. Debating whether or not to grab a new replacement faceplate, knobs, buttons, and new reproduction wood case before the stuff becomes unobtanium.

There's still an "oldies" station that was '50s and ''60s that has now added '70s and some early '80s. There's a station out of Tucson I'd listen to, but too much terrain between here and there, even a boosted FM antenna can't bring it in. But yeah, generally OTA stuff is lacking these days.

I would pick up any new replacement parts I could find while I could. There will never be any more of them and it will give you another 30 years or more of enjoyment.

Could anyone let me know the handle material or more info (Closer guess on year, I know it was made 56-88, steel type, seems stainless but what'd they use?) about this ol' USA Imperial I just started toting after wanting to buy a quality USA slipjoint without getting into the GEC wars? Still want to try that Buck 301 I think it is, the stockman.

IF stainless, Imperial-Schrade and family used 440A.
I don't see "Schrade+" on the tang, and do see a couple pepper spots on the blades.
With no "Schrade+", the pepper spots, "Imperial" on the tang, and shell cnstruction (the "covers" and "bolsters" are one piece that are clipped to the frame/liners) the blades are likely 1095. Most, if not all Imperials of the '56 to '88 period had 1095 blades.
I am not aware of any Imperial shell knives with factory stainless blades.

440A or 1095, all the Imperial-Schrade family of knives had an excellent heat treat.
I think Imperial-Schrade ran their blades a tad harder than the contemporary Case knives.

The Buck 301 is the large (3 7/8 inch closed) Stockman. Their "Medium" (3 5/8(?) inch closed) stockman is the 303.

Hello Porch! Look what the cat drug in 👋 Had a go through the wringer the last few weeks, no hope of catching up on this thread. Knives were carried, and here they are. Still not quite @Rufus1949 's midnight wall of knives, but I'm coming for your title Bob.
Long story short, there was car trouble. Modded my Mora of many years, always hated that knife. @Amir Fleschwund was kind enough to send me this wonderful tank of a US made Camillus TL-29 with brass liners and pins, which actually had been on my fairly short (ahem) list of knives to acquire. Gonna use it hard and likely try a scale replacement this winter. Thank you very much Jeff, we are going to have some fun together!

Awesome lineup over the last several days, FC. So many cool little fixed blades.
Just another summer day here in the City by the Bay! 39 and counting! On this day in the Presidential Suite of the Stanford Court on the top of Nob Hill I married my beautiful bride. Man what a party! And like I tell her every year, it seems like only yesterday. Giants play later and keeping me company will be the usual lamb and SAK. Have a great weekend folks! 😀

Congratulations on another year of marriage and happy anniversary, Dan
Wow!! That's pretty good from a blurry picture.
They’ve got a pretty distinctive look. They’re pretty rare, at least around here, so I always love seeing them.
Thank you! This revolver is the first I ever bought and it started my love for Smith revolvers. It is a 4” 686-4.

It has been another great day in the woods. I finally harvested this cauliflower mushroom today to make some soup tonight.

All cleaned up, with a few red cinnabar chanterelles we found too.

Haven’t seen any of these guys yet today, but a couple bear pics from last weekend.

Awesome pictures. Looks like you had a great day.

Since getting back from vacation, I’ve spent all week catching up at work and home which made it hard to keep up here. As a result, here’s a photo dump of the last few days.

And this is what I carried today

While I was working my wife smoked a tri tip. I crisped up the outside a little on the grill when I got home and used the caplifter on a beer.

Thank you Sir! Seems like only yesterday and we’ve been together since we were 19. 😀

This is good to hear! Have seen pepper spots develop on neglected stainless, but this 1095 held up for at least 25 years with just a bit of dull greyness, been wanting a 1095 slipjoint that isn't an arm and a leg. Very happy about this discovery, thanks for the info!
