WHAT?!? Not Whitworth Fasteners???I had new chain, sprockets and tyres ( correct spelling) fitted by a garage but the old flange bolts didnt fit the Renthal sprocket stepped hole correctly.
That is they didnt fit into the hole,I needed the same nut but with a smaller flange, measuring them was the only way as that measurement wasn't in the parts books.
So I had to work it out myself,Ive got a digital vernier, but my old Army issued calliper and ruler did the job quicker and easier.
Plus I know you lot like the old stuff being as we are all fossils here ourselves (mostly)
In-between collecting the new bolts and fitting them I had coffee at a stately home on the way back, though the owners have now moved on and sold it to the National Trust in England.
I trust you will find these photos of Flanged Nuts interesting (sounds like an insult) as in "That guy over there's a bit of a Flanged Nut"
My 15 kept me company today along with my issued Alox SAK always in my bike jacket pocket.

Very true my friend. Let’s be real…my weekday knife selections are expensive fidget toys. As long as they can peel apples and open letters and boxes, I’m good!Awesome pair Bob. Nice stag on the Wright. Love the succulents too.
Great couple of knives Jon…a little redundant but how could you not carry those two?
Sounds like a handy size for the pocket.
Thanks, Gary! Unfortunately, I don't have the slightest idea how to backtrack the L.L. Bean patterns. I wish I did! For all I know, it could be last year's model. That's a good-looking stockman, sir, with handsome wood and the tip of the sheepsfoot blade between the liners (IMHO, where it belongs)!Any idea who made it for L.L.Bean?
Thanks buddy!Terrific trio!![]()

You like knives and guitars, too? What’s your favorite dinosaur?Off to an early am jam with my ‘55 J45, and the knives that were still in my pocket.View attachment 2331643View attachment 2331646
Then I switched to a Tele and the small but mighty ‘65 Fender Champ Amp, and changed knives because Saturday is Schradurday!View attachment 2331647
Have a great day!
That’s a beauty — congrats! The 78 is such a great pattern. One of my newest acquisitions and has quickly become one of my favorite knives to carry. Basically only carried single blade knives habitually but this one made me appreciate secondaries. Recently tried a forced patina with some vinegar... not sure if I love it or hate it. Either way I love the knife. I wonder if GEC will put out another run of these 78's so I can snag a backup. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
