Yeah, it’s that time. What do you do with them? I remember Grandpa used to bring burlap sacks full home from their cabin in Missouri, lay them out in the gravel driveway, and drive over them with his Volkswagon to remove the messy hulls.A nice crisp October morning.

And the pile of walnuts in the back yard keeps growing. It's about a foot & a half high between the two trees.

I wish you luck. The process is not as bad as I thought. A week and a half and moving to a Cain. Never had to use pain meds.Great to hear, Bob! I follow in your hipsteps tomorrow...![]()

Thanks Jon. One never knows when a squirrel will attack.Sounds about right…mean streets of the Jersey and all.
So glad to hear you are getting upright and pain management has been very tolerable.![]()
Fine examples of form and function Chief.Apologize for not having time to look through 15 pages of posts, but it certainly is relaxing to enjoy all the nice pics / stories with a cup of swill, guilty pleasure.ferider that Dozier is a beauty!
Three Oklahoma slipjoint makers on the desk. Going to rotate them throughout the day. Testing new light cone to diffuse light and reduce / eliminate reflections. Effective, but still not easy.

I just pile them up & the squirrels can come & get them. Just last week, my wife bought a pound bag of walnuts from the Amish store down the road for $2.49. It's been a long time since I've shelled & picked walnuts, but I'm sure my time's worth more than $2.49/lb. These trees are in the back yard, and there's another 15 or 20 walnut trees on both sides of the creek bank beside our house that the squirrels have "planted" over the years.Happy Anniversary, Hanni!

I get so many from the trees I planted, it’s crazy. Each fall I usually fill my garden cart a couple of times, and dump them over on the seven acres around the pond that we jointly own with the other folks on our little dead end road.
The tree rats get most, though, and plant them in my garden.![]()
Appreciate it, my friend!A fine barehead Jeff.Enjoy yours too.
Best of luck to ya!Great to hear, Bob! I follow in your hipsteps tomorrow...![]()
