What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Good evening Porchsters,

Late to the tea party today, mostly annoyed with this knife. I love the blade very good steel and super strong W&T, but its one those I have to try and like. I should have sent it back I think, I am right handed and the stag (stag Sunday, :) i am starting to get the lingo) has the duff scale on the wrong side, whats all that about? another thing is the Nickel silver bolster(with nickel silver pivot) and then they go and chuck brass pins on the slabs. They must have saved a whole 50p there. those little things bring the whole knife down in my view. (climbs carefully down off the soapbox, its a bit high and I have to watch my step)

Such a cool piece of history Greg. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd and I agree.

Great Jack knife!🤠
Thanks, David. The knife shows it's age with the pitted blade steel and scratches but its still going strong.
Wow, that's very impressive
Thank you, Jack. Old time craftsmanship and honest materials often endure if only used for their intended purposes.
Greg, that Bayonne jack is a beautiful piece of history and I'd carry it too! My old Robeson is only 85-90 years old, but I'm carrying it this morning.

And Primble, that dogleg is magnificent!
Nice, Jeff. Your Robeson seems much similar to the Bayonne. I like the oval shield and bare head build.

There’s just something about old knives and old dogs…
Yep I like 'em both as well, Jeff. I noticed your boy Manny in one of your recent post, he looked fit and healthy. Is he getting to be an old dog yet?

Grand ole carry with some rich jigging Greg.👌
Thanks, Bob. I don't know for certain but suspect years of, dirt, handling and use by previous owner(s) have darkened the recess's of that bone.

Carried the old boy again today. Must be good steel, takes and hold a sharp edge.
