What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Venandi on today's walk. I think this will be sticking around as a very light, inexpensive cutter for times I want lightness. Or something I'm not going to be upset about losing or having it stolen.

Carrying the micarta Buck again today, when's the last time y'all saw one of these multi colored pens 😂IMG_20231113_173501701.jpg
Side note, a coworker told me about some trouble at his house. Long story short, if y'all were wondering if we have Cougars in South Carolina.....yes they are here & a good ways away from the mountains. Here's a pic from his yard.Screenshot_20231113-174953~2.png

Ive had this Boy Scout knife for 40+ years. I haven’t packed it since I was a kid. It was my step dad’s when he was a scout. He would have been almost 80 if he were still alive. I think it’s a Marble’s. Anyone know something/anything about my old friend here? It’s sunny and 64 in the Bluegrass State today.
“Anyone know something/anythng about my old friend here?”

I do.
It’s a fantastic knife, with the added bonus of being a special heirloom.🤙

Killer combo, Steve👌

The hills in the background were earthworks for a Civil War artillery fort. It is right across the street from my house. It is now a neighborhood park. About once a year the local Civil War guys will bring in some cannons and march around in their uniforms for an afternoon. The rest of the year it is just me, the dogs, and lots of wildlife. Great photo of those two beauties Barrett :)

Thanks!

Ok, it's no more cane day. To celebrate, I have a give away.
I only ask that you are a regular visitor to the porch( I retain the right to acknowledge your status). No congrats please.

He or she who is closest to guessing month and day of my wife's birthday will win both knives. ( Case '65-'69 and custom Waboom Margrate). I will announce winner on Tuesday 1 pm.
Post guess and I will acknowledge with thumbs up.

I apologize now if this takes up too much space. I really don't know any other way.View attachment 2388476

Very generous of you, Bob. Not an entry for me, but best of luck to everyone else, and Happy (possibly extremely early or late) Birthday to your wife! 😉😁

In a true sign of the apocalypse, SWMBO has decided that it’s time to decorate for Christmas!?! We love Christmas and its traditions in this household, but it’s 10+ days before Thanksgiving! I did succeed in making sure the dining room stays in its Thanksgiving splendor, but I imagine that as soon as the dishes are cleared, the Christmas Village will appear!! So it goes …

Anyhoo … it felt like a Proper Sunday. The Gold Class doesn’t get out often, but the Micarta is a frequent EDCer. I love the detail on the Gold Class with the Mokume bolsters.

Hey, at least you’re doing better than Costco. They’ve had Christmas stuff out since August! 🙄

Your local COSTCO put out the Christmas stuff that late????🤯😳🙄

I heard one of the local TARGET stores put up their Christmas displays, and put the faux "christmas trees" and tree decorations on sale beginning February 13.
The Hallmark Channel has been showing Christmas movies ('it's a wonderful life' and 'a christmas carol' at least 5 times each a week) and shows (I dislike the ingles 'little house' christmas shows worst.) since December 26.
Since a Dementia inflicted gal watches that channel indi common room every minute she is awake (and while taking a nap indi recliner) I stay in my room ware I ain't gotta listen to or sea that garbage/trash/junk. 350 sattelite tv stations, and IMHO, not a daRn thing on "worth" watching.I don't turn my TV on, sept for the Sirus Classical music channel ... turning it off when they get confused and play opera ... I don't like being screached at by (likely 14 or 15 long tonne) soprano guys n gals in languages I don't talk.)
One of the Sirus radio sattelite/cable TV channels plays Christmas songs from January 01 to December 31...
