Well, the coffee cooled fast in the time it took to take those pics!Jeff, that equal end is a fine carryRobeson? With identical blades, other than long pull vs. nick? You're braver than I, having coffee outside today. Not that I mind the cold, just that I like my coffee HOT. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyoneApologies for my absence over the past couple of weeks, (I continued posting in the Guardians thread), but I went away to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands for Christmas, and am still catching up
I random picked a Lambsfoot today, this re-build by @jsdistin, rec-covered in Appaloosa

Here's a "glitch" in my weekly rotation schedule. This week the SAME knife shows up as BOTH the Stag/Horn Knife of the Week AND the Lambsfoot of the Week. It's the Ashley's Choice lambsfoot I've named Cracker Jack:

I don’t know if this qualifies but I’m caring a bench made AFCK, which I’ve been carrying since 1994. This knife has never failed me over the years. Have skinned deer with it and laid in flooring in a martial art studio when my razor knife crapped out. I’ve got a microtech socom elite on the way may or may not replace this is my EDC. Will keep you all updated.Having ended the experiment and going back to my sinfull ways as an incurable knife knut, I have my daily rotation with me. In addition to my ever present Wenger SI in its belt pouch with the LED light, I have my old yellow peanut back in my right pocket. My classic is back on my keyring, and I feel like all is back as it should be. And in memory of my dear old Uncle Paul, I even tucked a very old Christy knife in my tobacco pouch, just in case.
What are you guys carrying today?
It's a stately tool. Sorry about your coffee, but thanks for sharing the picture and interesting history.Well, the coffee cooled fast in the time it took to take those pics!
The old relic is an odd one. From what I found out on AAPK, a small group of cutlers left New Yoek Knife Co. to form their own company. Their business model consisted of buying up factory seconds from NYKC, and refurbishing them. The NYKC tang stamps were ground off, and they were stamped
EAGLE
PHILA.
I don’t know how the two blades were originally shaped or sized due to considerable sharpening loss, but I think the shorter one in front was the main. It’s closing snap is a bit lazy.
And due to that steel loss, someone ground out the easy open notches. I regret they’re there, but cleaned and polished them a bit.
It’s a favorite of mine.
Hope her visit went well.Today I drove my daughter across the border all the way to Syracuse NY for a medical appointment/follow up at the Bone and Joint Center.
My new Viper was a bit homesick for its homelandso I brought it along with us
