What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Do you have a Buck knife you use during Bucs games, Todd?
Your Tampa Bay privateers shouldn't have to complain too much about Michigan winter weather since the Lions play indoors here. ;)

I use a red SAK (have a couple different ones) seems appropriate for a team that loves to blitz! 🤣

Yes, we did, Barrett! It was an airflow problem which was causing it to overheat and shut down.
It did not get this cold last winter, so it never reared it’s ugly little head.

And I love the old Royal typewriter, my friend. From back before “keyboarding” was even a word.

Glad you got it sorted!

I bought the typewriter a year or two ago from a guy locally who restores them. Typing on it definitely takes some adjustment after typing almost exclusively on a laptop keyboard for most of my adult life.

Two beauties with you today Barrett !!!!! Thanks for the comment on the Snow . That photo was taken when we had about 8 inches . We ended up getting about 4 " more . And then my snow blower that I use on the patio would not run and I finally got it running today . We have a Service for doing the driveway .
Stay warm up there my friend .

Harry

Thanks, Harry. I doubt there’s a total of 3” or 4” on the ground here. I’ve only really had to shovel the driveway once.

Same when I got back from my recent hols, boiler cut out at 1am, and there I was watching YT videos! 😖

It’s not my idea of fun. 😁

Pair of aces Barrett :) I had to write a letter to Stan Shaw's missus yesterday, must have taken me an hour!

Thanks, Jack. I hope Mrs. Shaw is doing well. I’m certain that she appreciates you keeping in touch.

I need a shovel more than this knife.View attachment 2459209

Interesting knife, Bob.

Exactly why I haven’t grabbed one yet Jeff. If I do grab one it will be a prop only cigar.
😄

🤣🤣

A friend and I were driving from NW Arkansas to St. Louis and back, must’ve been during college. His dad was a big cigar smoker, and we got the idea while driving past Cuba, MO on the way up there that we’d stop on the way back, buy some cheap cigars at a truck stop in Cuba (I think they were full-size Swisher Sweets), get rid of the packaging and tell his dad that we’d picked him up some Cuban cigars (we may have said, “cigars from Cuba”). I think the pre-punched hole in the cap gave us away. 😁

I’ve been meaning to start carrying this Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose for a while now. It was a generous gift from Angry Waiter Angry Waiter last summer. He sent as a backup for my daughter Eleanor’s Nifebrite #71, which I greatly appreciate, because I now I can carry this one whenever I want, instead of just Eleanor’s birthday and other special occasions. I put a new lanyard on it back when it first arrived, and yesterday I gave the edge a little touch up and then dropped it into my pocket. Thanks again, Pete!

Thanks for the compliment, Bart. I think you have a non-OldTimer version of that Wrangler pattern, right?:cool::thumbsup:
34 years using the same ball glove is impressive!

Yes, it is the 893 and equally handy. My glove did get about a 20 year break from the time I left college until my son started playing baseball a couple years ago.
Cool pics Bart

Have a good day everyone :) Carrying my Hartshead Barlow and Abbeydale Jack

Thanks Jack. Nice stag pairing today. 👍
Nice photos Bart. We are fortunate enough to have Eagles around here all year long, but
I never get tired of seeing one. A few weeks ago I saw one land in the tree when I was at my neighbor’s watching football. Then, a few minutes later he was joined by another one. View attachment 2460383View attachment 2460384

Nice stag Jack. 😎👍
Thanks Todd. That’s pretty awesome. It’s always exciting to see them.
Might break freezing here today for the first time in about a week. I have the rancher with me today. Have a great day everyone!

That patina is starting to look really good. 👍
Why thank you Bob! You do have indeed have varied taste, Sam Cooke is a classic. I want to check out Nils Lofgren. And a Kroo... Get out of my head Bob! 🤣

Why thankee Bart! I'm proud of the patina, although usually I just use them and wait. Not so proud of the fact that I carry that sweet little Wayne Walker so seldom that you thought it was new 😬 Glad you caught some powder, and didn't meet the bears. The 14 would not have helped much against a bear.

Gosh it's beautiful! I never new the '13 run had the secondaries on the "correct" side. Darnit, this is going to cost me!

Carried the Josh Fisher again today, along with the Eureka Jack, to match a Goldenrod Yellow shirt 😁
Hope all you Porchsters have a great evening!
I didn’t recognize the fixed blade so I thought it was the new knife purchase you alluded to. New or not, it’s still cool. Love that eureka too 👍

I am always pleasantly surprised how these older knives retain their spring snap. It's labeled as a boy's Jack.

Those '18s are a great looking lamb Barrett.👌

I enjoyed the Fargo finale. There was some knife content.
I’m sitting out back with a couple of knives. The rain has stopped and it‘s not cold.
I never thought I’d get a MOP knife. I first bought a sheepsfoot with a cap lifter barehead jack with MOP. I found I really liked the covers because depending on the light they always look different. I didn’t have a gunstock and ended up with more MOP. I like it.

That is one beautiful knife handle. WOW, WOW,WOW!

I was very conservative on my last trip and only brought a Vic classic. Feeling a little bolder and wanting something more substantial, I purchased an Alox Electrician to add to my pocket when abroad. I think this daily carry will meet all my needs.

I am reminded of the exceptional quality for the money that victorinox provides. It’s really well built and boringly consistent. i consider a SAK traditional, but I find that a new SAK has no soul. Great tool, but nothing more. Perhaps that feeling will change over the next month of carry.
