I'm not sure what that one is, Jeff. It doesn't produce fruit, but then the persimmon by the other driveway doesn't produce fruit either. My tree identification skills are shakey at best. It might very well be some variety of persimmon.

After more data, I am going to guess paw paw.
I think, even though that can cause trouble, that persimmons have male and female trees. The females bear fruit, but not without pollination by a male tree. So plant a few more!

Got some chores to do around the house to winterize it - pull the battery on the mowers and put them on trickle chargers, secure lawn chairs, etc., put new filters in the furnace, and maybe secure the swamp cooler. A simple Bull Nose should do any cutting tasks. Sausage and an apple fritter for breakfast.

That jigging looks like the Cat's miaow :cool: Beautiful knife and paws😻 Gone to the country place for a long week-end, autumn looking nice but already down to 3 C at night, but Miss Tabby doesn't mind, she loves a holiday, off all the time out in the fields and woods, won't see her indoors much, cat gratitude;)

Persimmons are male or female. Cottonwoods are another one.

Yes it was a beautiful morning and a favorite that's been getting a lot of pocket time. It's been a busy weekend with barely time to hit the like buttons. Was nice to sit for a few minutes and try to be grateful for the day before folks arrived. Now with mom playing Scrabble. Thanks for the reply. Hope things are well...
