Good Tuesday to you. It never did rain yesterday but it looked like it would all day. Today I’m doing a Costco run. But first I’m enjoying a cup of coffee. The turkeys haven’t shown up yet. The squirrels have been away at a squirrel meeting or something. I tried years ago to keep them out of the bird feeder. They beat my efforts to discourage them at every turn. Outsmarted by squirrels oh well. My garden is still kicking out a few flowers but the end is near. Here’s my ettrick.

Y’all go all the whey to Broadhead for curds, eh?

Yeah, seems no matter what you do, something always manages to find its way through the fence at some point.

I love working the cattle with dogs. I’ve always used border collies on our cattle. They’re super smart and super eager to please. My newest dog is half catahoula and half Idaho shag which is border collie/kelpie/airdale terroir. He’s one of the best dogs I’ve had, also smart, eager to please, and much less neurotic than a border collie.

Love the stag on that,I worked on a dairy farm when young that had two border collies and It was cool to say away and off they went directing them back to the barn at a slow walk so not to upset them for milking, lightly nipping at the Achilles of the stubborn, but like me they to had unpleasant meetings with the bull but they had skills to get away lol.
Once upon a time I lived with a woman who had a "border collie-mutt mix". Her description, but he had a lot more border collie than mutt in him. By far and away the smartest dog I ever had anything to with. He and I bonded from the get go. Probably not cool to say, but I missed the dog more than I did her 🐶
