What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Anybody looking? Nope.
Sneaky in-the-pew shot.

Oh....we know someone is!!!😁

Jeff, someone (who shall remain unnamed) said you were "full of beans" and I called that person a liar. Looks like I owe someone (who shall remain unnamed) an apology! o_O

Nice Buck 301, Mike! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I was trying to figure out from the tape case if it was a 301 or 303, then happened to notice that if my cursor was over the photo, I could see your filename for the pic, which included the info "rosewood 301." I have a 303 that belonged to my late father-in-law, and I carry it almost daily now, but it's dymondwood, I think.
What's the galvanized steel behind tape and stockman?

Twisted Lamb and a PAL Navy knife

Those Navy knives from WWII are splendid, guys!:thumbsup::thumbsup: IMHO, quintessential pocket knife!

These two for the last few days.

Notable, and versatile, pairs, Mitch & Bob & Tyson!:cool::thumbsup:

.... This is probably the very first photo that I took of my Charlies Lamb . One of my favorite knives ever .

Harry
I can sure see why it's a favorite of yours, Harry!:cool::thumbsup:
I've often said that it's probably the best-looking open knife I've ever seen (in person or in photos).

...
If you’re talking about a utility blade knife, you should get a cool, old Stanley. Much more character than the modern ones and more fun to use because of it.
pmbnSne.jpeg
Cool Stanley razor blade holder, Bart!:cool::cool:
I have one that I think is functionally almost identical to yours, but mine doesn't have that awesome checkered "nameplate", so mine isn't nearly as much fun.

Stamped Bayes by Colonial, I was told. (I can see it's stamped Bayes.)
Interesting Barlow with a splendid blade combo, Jer!:thumbsup::cool:

Going to town soon - post office then the grocery store. No stops to eat. We had to rush "Utah" the Doxie to the vet yesterday afternoon. She developed a golf ball size lump at the site where they performed a biopsy the other day and it bled internally. Now we've got meds to administer to her twice a day. I'll be carrying this Scout Trapper today. Not concerned about breakfast just now.

"Utah" the Doxie the day we brought her home 7-years ago. She was nestled between my arm and the late CoCo.

"Utah" the Doxie is showing some improvement. She played with her ball for a few minutes last night before tiring. We're headed to town in a few to mail another package and then lunch at the Brass Rail Restaurant. I've got this Sowbelly pocketed.

I hope you can get Utah on the road to recovery ASAP, ED. Looks like she's had soulful eyes her whole life!:thumbsup::cool:
Classic yellow Case sowbelly!

I’ve started to use her.😁

The 93 Waynorth lambsfoot for the last 5 months. As of 2:00 PM today, the Waynorth city stock.

Smoke Use 'em if you've got 'em, men! 🤓:thumbsup:
Congrats to John and Dan and everyone else that's picked up one of those superb Waynorth Cutlery City Stock models!
Dan, the pair of Charlie's knives you posted are SO well-matched!

Very useful little lockback, Jim!:cool::thumbsup:
I have an oriental version with delrin covers that's a favorite lockback of mine, but your USA model with bone covers is WAY better-looking! 🤓

Preeminent pocket tool chest, Mitch!:cool::thumbsup:

Stellar stag spearpoint jack, José!:cool::cool:

Pair of black beauties, David!:thumbsup::cool:

Same knives, but at least I took a fresh photo for you🙄
Knives worthy of an encore, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:
Taking a fresh photo of knives is not something I do very often.

Got dressed this morning, picked out these three to complement a Blue and Peachy-Pink plaid shirt. I thought to myself, "Darn FC, you are so vain!". Then another part of me retorted "Don't talk to yourself that way, it's not nice." And promptly received this response "Stop denying the patently obvious, it's a bad look. After all, Carly Simon did write that song about you."
Sometimes these voices get together and agree on something, like buying a pretty knife. 😁
Whatever you all are doing today, try and enjoy it!
Terrific trio, FC! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I don't mind the voices in my head so much, except I wish they weren't so loud. I wish they'd use "indoor voices", as the grade school teachers used to say.

Number 81 in my pocket today and two beautiful gifts from the most generous Modoc ED Modoc ED . The Mustang for me and the Bunny for Mrs. Crappie. Also two Wagon Wheel coffee cups! Thanks a million Ed! I continue to be blown away by the generosity of everyone here on the porch!
View attachment 2681673
Congrats on the fine gifts, and plaudits to ED for his thoughtful generosity!🤓

Howdy porchsters! I've had this bloodwood Queen LB4 and bone RR stockman in the pockets for about four days now.
Just pulled out another to carry for thrifty Thursday tomorrow, a redbone canoe that I call 'Leon'. ;)

View attachment 2681767View attachment 2681769
Both the RR sowbelly and the RR Leon Redbone canoe 😁 are grand, Greg!:cool::thumbsup:
Do you remember that one-hit wonder band Redbone that "made the charts" with "Come and Get Your Love"?

Traveled up to Vermont this week, we're close by Canadas border! This is the farthest the Mrs & me have traveled for vacation. Its over 1,000 miles from where we live.
I didn't carry anything Monday due to TSA stinginess... So I picked up this Sodbuster Jr at a local hardware store here in town where we're staying.

P.S. To our northern friends on the porch, We had poutine for the first time here. Definitely an odd dish for us, but it's actually pretty good 😂

Have a good one y'all!
I've found knives to be wonderful souvenirs of places I've traveled, but if you're flying without a checked bag, that gets complicated.
I heard about poutine here at BF, and have had it a couple of times in a local brewery that specializes in French-style "farmhouse ales" and serves French and French-Canadian food in their restaurant. I though it was great (except for the raw egg on top).

Phew, a CV Sowbelly in red bone is an absolute favorite of mine. I just need to find one 😂
Great looking knives!
That chestnut cv sowbelly is one of my
all-time favorite Case knives. Beautiful knife!

Mine for today:

I and my chestnut sowbelly thank you for the kind words, gents! :)

That lovely K'roo lamb must have you jumping for joy, Bob!:cool:;)

My fancy state was short, by afternoon the dust was upon me. That's why I need to clean up *sometimes*. I hate drywall sanding. Call somebody else, please!

Uh-oh, are mask mandates back?? 🤓

Quality Case quartet, Jim, and it's great to see that Cloverleaf baseball again!:thumbsup::cool:
I knew I'd seen it before, and had looked up Dale Alexander and did some other research to correctly guess "who was on the ball", but I had to go back to find your story about your dad and the ball's origin.

Gary, tell your imaginary friend I’ll save some methane for him😁
This one is for Rob Primble Primble ! I don't have to eat ramen noodles regularly because of my knife-buying habit, but they are tasty occasionally!
xO2ZJTL.jpeg
I have never eaten ramen noodles. I do remember certain roommates in college who seemingly lived off them, though.

My knife buying money goes toward guitar parts🙄

Jeff, I've never had to survive on a ramen noodle diet, thankfully!
I think guitar parts are a worthy substitute for more knives!

It does get complicated traveling, especially by plane & renting vehicles. We had a checked bag I could've put it in & took it with us but I didn't want to take the chance. I felt like a quick stop by the post office was a better option.
The poutine we had was great, all of the food we had was. It was nice to get to sample things like maple syrup, apple ciders & dairy right on the farms where they made it. There's definitely a difference to it.

Amber 6347 Stockman today. "Utah" the Doxie seems to be on the road to recovery. NASCAR and football this afternoon. Hash and eggs for breakfast.

I'm glad your hound is doing better. I've been there more times than I care for, it's always a hard road to deal with. I wish Utah a speedy recovery.

My wife and I took a little day trip to the western side of Wisconsin on Friday and I just now have the time to post a few photos .
Some views over looking the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers with Iowa on the other side .

Of course we had to drive over to Iowa to see this again . Something for the Hawkeyes to be proud of .

I had this Northfield 73 in my pocket then and also today .

P.S. - Why yes, that is a knife whose shield is a representation of itself, which in turn has a shield of the same. I think that's what people mean when they say "down the rabbit hole..." 🐰🕳️
