I've had a few of Arno Bernard's knives and his work is excellent. Seeing your picture, Duane, makes me almost wish I hadn't given the last one to my son....

I know that feeling Gary, hopefully you get to at least see it from time to time?

Nice pair, Duane. How do you like the N690?, 17.3% chromium

Sorry for the kibitzing, but, it isn't the high chromium content, I think it's the cobalt and touch of Vanadium that really make the difference. The chromium and carbon contents of 440C and N690 are about the same. But the performance of N690 is similar to that of VG10 (a noticeable step above that of 440C). I actually think N690 has a hair better edge retention than VG10. And it takes a very fine edge.

Weather is so hideous here now: 5 hours twilight, sleet, 22m/sec gale and glass like surfaces to try and 'walk' on that the 10 min stroll to the shops turned into an epic endurance trek :eek: Carried only the bare essentials, a CASE Pen-Knife in Yellow D. But its cousin in Maple is on its way here soon.. Got back in one piece, just! Not venturing out again, animals hibernate they've got that one right:D

Hello Gary!

Beautiful piece there!

Best regards,
Alex

Thanks Alex, she's fast becoming a true Every Day Carry for me, great size, non-assuming, no one at work freaks out if I use it to cut stuff, nice ;)
