What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hello!

Great knives and some very "moody" images in here once again!

Here is my EDC-Set these days: It consists of a Custom Friction Folder by Kansei Matsuno, dressed up in "new" materials (ATS-34, Carbon Fiber and a Kydex-necker-sheath). Along with it, I typically carry one of my Alox SAKs. Most of the time it's the medium sized Victorinox (Swissbianco) Lumberjack (medium blade, saw and hawkbill-blade):

Here is a standalone-img of the Kansei in it's sheath:

And here's the "spot-the-Wenger-puzzle-image" to finish it off... ;) Actually just an assortment of the Alox SAKs I was able to locate without much searching (and the pool the Kansei's sidekick ist typically picked out from):

That's wild! I'm familiar with Catalin, used on older tube radios from the 1930s and 40s but never knew there was material still available to make knife handles.:thumbup:

Exactly! When it comes to materials you can't tell what Mr. Lloyd is going to come up with next!
Here's it's brother....

Singin 50 and Clutch: I buy old flower vases, desk sets, old radio boxes, etc from Rumania...don't ask me why they have a hold on the stuff....but they do for some reason ...and then cut scales from the catalin. It comes in red, orange, blue, OD and bright green, black, dark brown, and a very few others. Old time juke boxes also have quite a bit on some of them. It is pretty stuff but have to really watch it for cracking when peining pins.

I understand what you're talking about John. Hairline cracks are pretty common with Catalin, from those hot tubes in table top radios, melting and sometimes cracking the material. Now you're tying my 2 collectables together in one piece! I think I may be in serious trouble in the near future. Thank you for responding. It will burn just like celluloid though.
