What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Some really nice arrivals yesterday and today. An old cutler jack with a matchstrike pull im in love with. A well loved GEC 66 in pumpkin patch acrylic that I have been lusting over for a few years now. Last but certainly not least 2013 BF congress jack. Has the nicest pull since my Eureka jack and came hair popping sharp out the box.

Well done GEC...the only GEC I have not had to sharpen out the box

Nice additions!

Conductor today. Still trying to come up with a good plan for my whittling project, as I've never done one before.

Been touring small town West Yorkshire with my Sheepsfoot Charlow today :)

Two in Paua for me, on this cold and snowy day.

Wow Kris! I never was a friend of "colorful" knives ... but I never knew there was something like Paua!
Those are just stunning! :D

Yeah, right, rub it in ... at least it is not African Blackwood ;)

Cheers,
Bernd

p.s.: Still looking for a single-blade, African Blackwood, Sheepsfoot Charlow ... and very jealous every time I see a Sheepsfoot Charlow ;) I am working on it :D

Great pictures, today! I especially like your tool shots, Pete! Great shot of the Charlow with the Yorkshire background, Jack!

Great shot of your carry, Wundergussy.

wow when i see them like this, i think i prefer the white owl!
no offense to charlie or the charlow, just cool pic and many thanks for posting them together like this.!

ps the white owl stag scales are purty, real purty!

Thanks for the kind words! I'd have a hard time picking a favorite between these two, so I just carry both. :D

your very welcome
i think the charlow looks more...traditional (in my opinion)
but the while owl looks more..friendly and it would have to be as easily useful (again in my opinion)

an oldy and kind of a goody, the Cold Steel Twistmaster, a new spin on the Opinel design.
Short story behind this particular one, I had given it to my mom, for her to carry in her glove box of her car, it's rugged, hard to really hurt, blade won't get stuck in the handle like the regular wooden Opinel's and it takes a pretty nice edge without being too thin, so it's a tuff one she can use and I'll not worry. well she did use it, a lot, but didn't take as good of care of it, had a good friend grind down the flats to help get the bad pitting on the sides, and today I stuck it in some vinegar to give it a patina, and that's odd cuz I am not a patina guy but figured it's worth a shot.
Now my mom had this annoying habit, she'd forget that this knife I had given her was from Cold Steel, she would tell EVERYONE look at the knife my son made, I'd hang my head and tell her...again...that No mom, I didn't make it, I bought it and gave it to you! lol, but she never did get that straight. So now that she's passed on, I'm carrying this one in my glove box as well, took her out to do the patina on and touch up the edge, cut up a BUNCH of boxes for our wood stove, did a nice job of that.

So, mom, really, I did not make this...but I still love you anyways and miss you dearly...
