What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This Case trapper with a nice little sheath I got from a local craftsman today.

Since "Barlow's" have come up quite a bit of late I've pocketed this little 3.5" beauty by Don Morrow in CPM-154 and jigged bone:

That Barlow is a beauty Elliott. Seeing your post prompted me to put this Wharncliffe Trapper in my pocket. Don made this for me a few years ago.

That is a beautiful set up you have there. I always liked the look of those jade bone trappers and that sheath is just sweet.

They show a bit too red in these pics, but this pair of cocobolo Queens slipped into the general rotation recently. They have good fit, and take and hold better edges than you sometimes hear of in Queens. But hten I have usually found that :D :D.

I was looking for a cobo copperhead, when these two introduced themselves. Couldn't say no. Damned glad I didn't too

That's a nice one, Gary...Kind of like a hybrid saddlehorn trapper frame, at least that's how it looks to me on first blush!:cool:

Elliot, That's a "Vintage" looking Barlow! The Engraving gives it a 60's-70's
vibe to it! It's NICE!!! Thanks for sharing.

Well you can't go wrong with either choice.

Maybe its just my imagination, but it seems like I am seeing more knives (custom) done lately with the red / orange colored scales.

Thanks, guys!

Mike, the bone is dyed and jigged to give the look of amber stag and it's about the best (matched set) I've come across. I actually thought it was dyed stag at first.

I just took a few of my own images of the knife to try to give a better "feel" than the originals:

Thanks! Always wished I could carry the full size trapper more but it was just too darn big in the pocket. The sheath solves the problem nicely. I think this one will see a lot more carry time now.

I notice no one carries a doctor's knife any more.... I can't imagine why, this is slim and long enough to do any job. This one is made by frost, one of their Steel Warrior knives. Honestly its pretty good, I've put an edge on here thin enough to make it look almost like a flat grind and so far I've no complaints.

I carry my Alsdorf doctor's knife to the office just about every day. It's perfect for office stuff and I hardly know it's there.

Whooooo Eeeeee! that doctor's knife is purty - -Ed

I carried my Case amber bone Texas jack today.

So lame with no pix but felt like playing. For the last 8 days its been the new GEC/Tid ebony #66 jack. At the pumpkin patch/apple orchard in MI this afternoon - peeled and cut a few apples after the kids pickerd them off the trees. Nice memories 'christen' the little piece with.

My Texas jack is back at Case getting tuned up. I think I'm developing a case of separation anxiety.

I carried quite a few today to make photos for another thread, but the only traditional I used today was my Rough Rider Copperhead to open an UPS package. Cut like a laser.

Hi all, first post here.

Most of today I was on a train so just a CV Tiny Toothpick in the watch pocket next to a Zippo. Usually have that with a reworked KC med. sodbuster in a horizontal belt sheath. I find that between those two I can cover any task I encounter throughout the day, and if I lose or damage them it won't break the bank (though I do treat them well.) Great combo.
