What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Normal carry for most days. Beautiful day here today. Just got back from a week at Disney in Orlando. The grandkids had a great time...my feet not so much :) I do miss the 80 degree plus weather and wearing shorts

Seeing some sweet ass blades on this thread. This is what I'm carrying today. It's been my favorite lately. I'm still getting the Spey as sharp as I like.

That's good to hear Stephen :) I'm having a bit of a lazy day my friend, indulging in reading some Sheffield cutlery history ;) That's another nice carry you have with you today

:) Thanks! Sounds like we're having similar weekends. I haven't done much more than relax so far, but I do plan to take the kids for a hike this afternoon. Aside from that, I spent a fair bit of time yesterday researching two old Sheffield cutlers. Seems I can find bits and pieces, but it's been my experience that researching some of the old Sheffield makers can be akin to pulling teeth. ;)

Just to keep us on topic, here's a photo of one of my favorite knives which also happens to have been made in Sheffield:

Thanks Stephen, yours ain't half bad either :).
It's actually not jigged, it is smooth coconut palm wood which has this crazy grain all on its own.

Ha, I see it now, but would've sworn before that it was some type of peach-seed styled jigging. Thanks for the feedback, and again, lovely knife.

Very cool. My dad and I worked in a paper mill most of my life. We always had advertisement knives like that from the various felt companies we dealt with. One day I hope I can find some of them. Thanks for bringing back good memories.

Found this is the drawer of the end table next to our loveseat---just a great knife in every aspect:thumbup:

The bone was mismatched a little from side to side, so I darkened it a bit to match better, then increased access to the Pen via a Dremeled relief notch to the nail nick:thumbup:

Also radiused the edges of the bolsters with a 6000 grit belt on my belt sander...

Enjoy your Sunday everyone...

Beautiful day here. Unfortunately stuck in the house sorting out storage from the garage. Spring cleaning begins.

This little guy helped demoing old boxes.

Paul,

Great STJ! I believe some of the earlier models came with a notch for the pen.

Because of your good taste in knives, i'll let you slide on your poor taste in football teams.
