What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, Jack. One of the cooler things about that excellent EKA is the stack of three slim springs instead of one fat one. I haven't seen that many broken springs, but I don't mind a little insurance.

Here's a "new" one I've been carrying since I bought it at Saugatuck today. #1700 of 6000, apparently
NKCA's knife for 1978. It's unsharpened and unused, and says England, but not Sheffield.

That third blade is a spay.

Getting here at 6pm on a Saturday leaves me WAY behind! I'll comment on some of the many knives I enjoyed seeing in this thread today.

We've had a week of lovely weather, and I was hoping to take full advantage of it this weekend. Just finished packing my rucsac when the weather completely changed, it's now dark and windy, and absolutely lashing it down with rain :( I've had to change my plans, and my carry. At least I have the lovely #25 PMEW sent me to put a smile on my face :)
...

Sorry the weather was uncooperative, Jack. I'm not sure what's worse: having outdoor plans that bad weather spoils, or having beautiful weather that one is too busy to enjoy! :thumbdn::confused::thumbedn: Anyway, a fine new knife does bring a rosy perspective to many circumstances, doesn't it? :)

... Böker Congress

...Too damp out to mow the lawn today. :) I'll just have to do some whittling.

Andi and Rachel, those Boker Congress knives are classics!:thumbup:
Andi, is yours a 2-blade or a 4-blade model?
I guess you'd recommend it for whittling, right, Rachel? That's why I have it high on my (seemingly infinite) wish list. :p

Picking up the yard for mowing. Bunch of dangerous weapons laying around!
…

Do you have kids, combatjj, or is all that heavy artillery yours?? :D:eek::D

Carrying the Scout today.
...

Bob, if I had that Scout, I'll bet I'd carry it EVERY day! What a beauty!:thumbup:

My dynamic duo :).

Tom, thanks again for supporting my Detroit Tigers with the colors of your chosen knives!:p:thumbup:

I just got this one and sharpened it up last night. I'm liking it so far:thumbup:
...

That sure is elegant, sir! Wow!:thumbup:

I hear you, Jim, especially regarding the Boker congress carver! Why don't you go ahead and get one of those right now, and tell us what they're really like? ;):p That's the one designed BY a carver FOR carvers, right? I'll totally trust your judgment, Jim; just order now and give me the lowdown!:thumbup::D Thank you, sir!

I thought this little guy was long gone but I found him today. These Gerbers were some of the best blades I've ever owned.

Yep, it's pretty good for carving. What makes it different than the usual congress is a spey type blade instead of a second sheepsfoot, so you have four distinctly different shaped blades. Good Solingen carbon steel, too.
