Nick and Mike, Thanks for the kind words!

Thomas, Thanks for the info on the wood handles for the Messer.

Nick, That Dowell is sweet!

Thomas - I have always wanted one of those Löwen anchor knives, but it is hard to find one for a decent price in the US.

Nick - That Dowell is fantastic.

Thanks guys! I got right back on Bret's list again. It's my 3rd time and hopefully many more to come. Every knife I get from Bret has been better than the last.

Still got the gunstock. I just love the grinds on this blade.

Very nice indeed!

After lurking around here a bit I finally broke down and bought a Case Sway Back Gent with the chestnut "pinecone" scales. It's a perfect watch pocket knife and I've been carrying it solo for the past few days to try it out. Here it is going to work on an aptly named pipe tobacco.

I like the Pinecone Scales on that Swayback Gent. Its on the list now.

For me today Primitive Bone GEC Dogleg Jack

I always loved that DB barlow. Just about two perfect blade shapes on an edc folder. What's in the glass...hell, it's 5:00 o'clock somewhere. Just had a little snifter myself..life is good.

Queen DB large barlow for the last couple of days. You may notice the bone is darker than the original orange.
To make a long story short, my first one came with a bent blade so I mailed it off to Queen. In very short order they sent me a replacement that was almost worse than the first one. Blade was bent in the other direction but less so. Worst of all, the bone wasn't even orange, more like a pale gray natural bone color with very little orange to be seen anywhere.
I decided it wasn't worth the trouble to return another so I dyed the bone with fiebings burgundy leather dye, sanded off some of the harsh corners on the handle, blade, etc. and have really enjoyed carrying and using this knife.
I plan to replace the end rivet with a lanyard tube to give back pocket carry a try. Otherwise, it carries in my front pocket just fine.

I picked up a Case large Gunstock from the Case Brothers run back in 2003. It has chestnut bone handles, along with strong walk and talk, and razor sharp blades out of the box.:)
