Beautiful knives today

Messing around at the shop chiseling some samples for a client. The Prez is on edge, my soda scout will be here today :)

Jolipapa, that's as nice as they come. You're fortunate to have it. Do you think your Grand'Pa carved the handle grooves?

I can't be sure, but I think he may have done that with a smaller one that was a promotional gift (#n°5, 7cm) from a "café" where he used to have his daily pre-lunch Ricard :D. For a while he had some time to kill when he was in a sanatorium after WWII.
I found these knives long after my own dad passed away and had never heard of them before.
The name in French for this kind of pivot (#n°12) is "virole à chapeau". It locks the same way as nowadays does.

The n°8 in the middle is another promo given by a gas company. Oh glorious days before petrol crisis with gas station coupons and premiums! LOL

Real nice wharncliff copper lock Gary, what scales are those chestnut or deep red bone or something else, case has so many bone covers/colors. With that "piano" you will always play sharp:p

Tim: love Case CV and how it patina's
Brother Jim: rust never sleeps

have Case in pocket today also, simple stay at home duties.

I believe it's their amber bone Rick, these show quite a bit more red/amber than mine do though.

Rick, Amber is correct, they seem to look better in hand than the pics show too, at least the pics I have taken of my knives.

I had an amber canoe that I passed along a ways back, and the covers on that one were almost translucent near the bolsters, My stockman that I recently acquired has some touches of grey near the bolsters. I really like the amber covers.

Thanks guys.

Thanks Tim and Steve !!!
I found those clippers next door while cutting grass. No one lives there now. The house is for sale. I brought the clippers home and just haven't done anything with them ... and may not ;)

That Robeson bone is stunning Gev !!!

Today, this Queen canoe. Hard to sharpen, but it tends to stay that way once you've done it. Nice heft, and the single spring design fits well in a pocket.
