What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gonna try for the Buck 301 today. Just seems like a nice knife for the day.

I have got to try to get me one of those GEC single-bladed knives for EDC, I am loving the pictures of those here.

A photo from a few weeks ago when the 301 was new:

I dropped this Hiroaki Ohta Wharncliffe Trapper in my pocket this morning. I know it was partly because I'm hoping that our knifemaker friends in Japan weathered this disaster and are safe and sound.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all our Japanese brothers and sisters.

Thoughts shared Gary:thumbup: I was wondering about Ohta myself as he's based in Tokyo. The whole situation looks beyond belief, it must be appalling for all people there.

Today it's been a GEC 73 Linerlock in Bonestag. Single blade GECs really are essential for any knife enthusiast, 48, 25 as well.

The 301 got a little use today, cutting some saplings for fishing poles, cutting some fishing line. Cant say i used them on any fish since we had no luck today whatsoever :p

This has pretty much been my edc most days, since they have everything i need on a regular basis.

feel equipped today, as usual

again this one, small light sharp, a great edc companion imo
arrived here last monday and I've been edc'ing 90% of the time, stropped the BAD edges and now it's sharp enough, will give it a polished convex edge when I'm in the mood for it 8-)
just don't like to edc any tactical or lockinf folder anymore, a slipjoint is way enough for edc AND way cooler  b: thumbup:

and as a backup/hard(er) work knife, as usual the TK4
always with me in the jacket or waist bag, for the last 3 months at least

strong, light and very sharp, not made as good as the TK3 but it's great anyways

thanks

Elliott, the bone on that Hunter is awesome. I love the shape of the secondary blade too. I don't know how you decide which knife to carry from your collection, but it sure seems like a good problem to have.

I'm not normally a 2 knife guy, but I can't seem to kick the Wiseman Ultralite out of my pocket much lately. I decided to bring this little Imperial along for the ride today though.

Thanks, Dan.

This was the first project that Ken Erickson and I put our heads together on (along with a single blade "shadow" based upon the same pattern).

I asked Ken to modify the secondary blade based upon the "pen" blade in one of my Case "Texas Jacks" which had a similar profile.
(Back then I had never heard of the terms "modified wharncliffe" or "zulu pen" so I just sent him an image of what I had in mind.)

Ken scaled the knife down from the original full size folding hunters at my request, jigged and dyed the bone and the rest is history.

How long ago did Ken make it for you?

I really like it.

Find myself requiring a beefy folder these days. I have been bouncing back and forth between a G10 Case Moose and this one, won on this very forum from a generous forumite. Since I'm working now punching and forming steel (gave up my desk job) I find the forged blades hold up better than most. Tough knife!

Today, I'm back to an old favorite: a Case CV trapper in chestnut bone, that I bought for myself as a HS graduation present, in 2000.
How she looks today:
