I just love the birds eye maple on this EDB. Perfect match for fall weather and its colors. Seize the day ladies and gentlemen.

Big and small today,

Karl Andersen J.S. take down bowie in 5 bar turkish twist damascus(5 individual bars of low layer damascus, each twisted in the opposite direction as the previous, then all 5 bars forge welded together) with a beautiful walnut handle and hot blued blade and guard with a stunning sheath that David Seward made for me, along with a lumberjack alox sak. I will try and take a pic of Karl's knife taken aprart, but Caleb Royer has some pics he is working on that will really show this beauty off. I think the caiman alligator on the sheath really sets off the beautiful walnut.

I'm in a quandary today.

Is it time to start a patina on my new Yellow Rose that Markesharp sent me? I know that yellow bone will look great with it. But I'll lose the Texas blade etch. :(

I've got a few more hours to decide 'til it's time to cut up some onions for the beans. (I'm on Jack's bean&toast-bought-too-many-knives diet) Rainy days call for cheerful yellow knives, so either way, I'll also have my peanut with me. :)

Rachel, your Yellow Rose will still be on the handle so go for it! :) Sand the etch off with 600 grit paper (do both sides of the blade) boil some apple cider vinegar, clean blade with Windex or alcohol, remove vinegar from heat and lightly stir the blade in the hot vinegar. Rinse with hot water and repeat until you get the patina you desire.
Oil the blade and use the heck out of it! :D

Kris, that sheath is fabulous. The subtle cross hatching enhances the walnut pattern.

Happy Fall! Amazingly sharp and solid as a rock. Ken makes great knives.

The 2-blade Boker again. Kind of a compromise between my habitual stockman, which I like for the choice of blades, and the Sodbuster Jr, which I like for not having to think about choice of blades.

thanks, Mark. I think I'll go for it. I'll post a picture tomorrow if it's presentable.:D

Post one either way. I've been hesitant to try it myself, some pictures of a bad outcome would help put my fears at ease! [emoji14]

Saw-turday for me
