Carried the smooth white bone RR Little Barlow today. Smaller than I usually carry, but these are handy little knives, and it they take up no room in your pocket.
I actually bought the white bone because I got the idea in my head that I was going to try my hand at scrimshaw. I wanted to do an image of a bear on the mark side and the words "Uncle Bear" on the other (my niece can't say "Barrett" and can only manage "Bear," so I'm Uncle Bear). After making a few preliminary scratches on the pile side, I decided I wasn't quite ready for scrimshaw.
Fortunately you can't really even tell that I started anything (the pile side has more dark specs than the mark side shown here, and I didn't get very far before deciding I really didn't know what I was doing). I may just have to get my Uncle Bear knife done by someone who actually knows how to do scrimshaw well.
