What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice pattern! I'm not familiar with it but it'd come in handy when you have a bottle of wine and no cork screw!

Nice Schrade, pinnah. Great pic too.

That's a fine looking knife, Dean.

Here's mine today. Old time whittler pattern with an old time pocket calculator.;) They look good together. I'm only carrying the Whittler!
We had to use a slide rule in my science and engineering classes back in the day. The first scientific calculators were out but the slide rule was still required for class work and tests.

Nice Case-Bose, Gary. (Nice shorty Decilon, too.)

Very nice Gary :) Hey, have you filched Frank's slide-rule? ;)
:

Nope.
I have a shorty Pickett N P3
But my K&E Decilon is full size (has 10" scales)

Thanks Jack. I forgot that Frank had posted a pic with a slide rule. I just happened upon it today and figured it would look good in the picture. Oh well, we're both old Engineers and strangely enough we find that we think alike. A little scary actually. :D

LOL! Good stuff Gary :D

I remember seeing you post a slide-rule when I first started posting regularly here Frank, and I always associate them with you! :D If you ever need a replacement/spare, I picked one up a few days after seeing that post. I'm not sure what type it is, but the same as my grandfather used to have. I never used one myself - I do however remember logarithm tables!

Very nice

Totin' this Northwoods Stockman
D2 Steel and Italian Jigged Bone
I'm told no Italians were harmed in the making of this knife ... dunno

Starting today off with a Case Canoe in amber bone.

Nice mermaid! is that tortoise or cell?

As far as clues: not much. It's stainless, and it used to have a cheap crimped in bail that I removed, so I think it may be a souvenir keychain type knife - no idea from where. I even posted it in Levine's forum, but no one recognized the stamp. I got it at a flea market from a pile of $5 knives.

Thanks, Rachel. I hope the mermaid is acrylic, but I don't know how recently cel was abandoned. I assume it's plastic, because Jolipapa tells me these were inexpensive working knives, and this one was made between the late '70s and 2000. So unless the farmer who made it happened to have suitable tortoises on his property, it's probably not tortoise.

Great find on your mystery. I like the flamboyant stamps, whatever they mean.

I have little confession (lol), I haven't paid attention to this thread due to lack of spare time, recently I started to give a quick look here and there, and the thread just got me. such great looking knives guys, and photographic skills. Just WOW. Now I need to find me some time to take photos and participate. Anyway thanks all for sharing and keep them coming :D

I'm catching up from a couple weeks of training my new sales people...but this one quickly caught my eye. What a total stunner Cattauraugus....er, um, I mean Primble! ;)

Glad to have this to add to my Catt collection. There is a picture and description of it in my 1930's Cattaraugus Catalog, where they call it the famous Whitt-L-Craft. :)

I agree, I am usually here multiple times per day but have also been really busy as of late. Great knives and pics!

Been carrying the coppersmith the past three days.

Out for a little hike this morning. Carried this Opinel No. 7, a Mora Classic No. 1, and a Bahco Laplander.

So these two arrived today and were dropped in my pocket, the 73 and .999 1/4oz round were a surprise from Paulhilborn
Thank you my friend for your generosity and heartfelt gesture. Everything will be carried and well loved. A coincidence since BigBiscuit/Bob and I were just talking about how the 71 and 73 pattern are the exact same knife in dimensions save for the hump and blade shapes.
