What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

First pic of 2016... my new Fox River Featherweight (acquired directly from Bark River just up north in Escanaba, MI):

I'm toting the Old Timer my grandfather gave me when I was eleven. He carried it for years and eventually left it in a tool box for ten or more years. It was so rusted and stuck, that he gave me this knife with some sandpaper and steel wool! I've only recently started carrying it again, and it will be heading back to school with me this weekend.

Carrying my Antique Yellow #15 Farm Boy again today. I just got the Rust Red, but haven't carried it yet.

I really like the look of those covers on your Davison, Jake. What wood are they?

Thanks Dean, it's Desert Ironwood. Here's a shot of the other side. It's hard to capture the depth in a picture. Ironwood has a lot of variation between pieces. I like that these scales have both swirls and straight grain in them. It breaks it up nicely.

Jack, Bob, Primble, GT, Kris, Paul, Tim and a few others who commented on my knives and gun recently, thank you! I like the New Years Day selection by everyone. I decided to carry my fanciest Davison today. (Old pic)

I agree that is your fanciest Davison. Love the overall look of it, ironwood, NYKC style shield, etc. - a fantastic knife, IMO.:) Closed length ?:confused:

Thank you sir :) That really is a head-turner!

Very much appreciated Mr. Jack.:)

Great grandpas Cattaraugus small stockman.

I have one like yours with less use on it. They are great old knives !:)

I thought I'd carry this one today. It's marked "BAXTER LTD, SHEFFIELD". Other than the name I know nothing about it.

Ken K.

Great knife Ken ! :thumbup::)

Happy New Year to everyone :) Case Chestnut CV SBJ in the pocket :D

Another great example Mr. Halfstop !:)

I love family knives! I don't have any pictures handy to share:(

3-7/8" on this one Rob. ATS-34 steel. I believe it's only one of 3 where Todd has placed the NYKC shield directly over the center pin and recessed it in there like that.

Beautiful, what great lines

In my Humble opinion this is as near perfect fixed blade as has been made. Love the handle and liner combo.
Harold

Thanks to you both!! I really do like this new Featherweight - it's been on my belt since I received it. Here's another pic from today (hopefully the sun comes out one of these days so I can get some better pics of this beauty):

I couldn't decide what to carry today, so I narrowed it down to these three.
Sorry for the crappy pic. I was in a hurry to make it to a family get together.

Very nice! Been eyeing up these since they came out. I would have snagged one in a second if it was 3V but from what I've heard BRKT does a great HT on their Elmax. Only means I have to purchase one myself and find out. :D
