This older Imperial today. Not sure of the pattern.
That's a great Imperial serpentine jack, Riley; I have one very similar to it that is really the reason I ended up here at this subforum.
...
a Taylor-Schrade Old Timer 93OT worked just fine.
...
Frank, I have 4 Taylor-Schrader Old Timers now that I generally am very pleased with, but all 4 have center pins that I think stick up excessively high. Is your 93OT like that?
Thanks for helping me end this year with a smile on my face,
Gary!
Just trying to pay it forward, Ron!
Happy New Year to everyone

Case Chestnut CV SBJ in the pocket
...
This CV and chestnut Case Swayback Jack is in my pocket today. One of the nicest knives I own.
...
Those swayback jacks are such a resplendent way to start the new year! Thanks for displaying them here, Shane, Ron, Frank, and Ted!
The Bible is a reprinting of the original King James Version. A gift from my great-grandmother.
I'm toting the Old Timer my grandfather gave me when I was eleven. He carried it for years and eventually left it in a tool box for ten or more years. It was so rusted and stuck, that he gave me this knife with some sandpaper and steel wool! I've only recently started carrying it again, and it will be heading back to school with me this weekend.

Great grandpas Cattaraugus small stockman.
Ben and Coop, I envy you guys; I can't think of many more valued possessions than family heirloom knives and Bibles!
...
Thank you GT - an interesting knife that Sanrenmu - happy new year to you !

...
Happy New Year everyone !

Back to the game - wearing my Bama Crimson Tide shirt from OW and cheering the tide on to the Championship.

Thanks, Primble. The Sanrenmu is a gift from davek14; it's very functional, and I think it meets The Porch's requirements as a traditional, but I don't really think of it as being a traditional at heart.
I certainly admire your taste in knives, but I don't understand how a man of such impeccable taste regarding cutlery can root for Bama (instead of MSU) or UK (instead of Purdue) or the Yankees (instead of the Detroit Tigers)!
Indeed. A funny thing about gifts: you might try out a pattern you wouldn't have chosen for yourself. I always thought that a spear main with a pen secondary is redundant, but the pen on this White Owl is so thin, with such a sharp little point, I find myself using each blade for different tasks.
I'm also liking the idea of your picking the carries of the week. I might need to start doing that instead of switching up daily. When I stick with a knife for a whole week, I bond with it more.
I know what you mean, Rachel; I still don't know how I ended up smitten with and owning a dozen canoes!
And your remark about carrying a knife for a week at a time rings true for me; it's the reason I decided to go with a weekly rotation (that, and the fact that my indecisive nature makes picking new knives each day far too time-consuming).
...This one on the last day of 2015.
Fabulous pic, Dan; seeing that gleaming edge on a blade with substantial patina always enchants me!
...
Happy 2016 everyone!
Hope it's a good year for all of us
Amen, Jack! Fine knife choice to kick off 2016 (and I always enjoy seeing that pocket slip)!
Happy New Year
Mister George, I presume? Very classy, Rachel!
This nice Kabar last night, and the old SW today.
...
Holy zebra zygotes, Jeff, the clip blade shape, jigging, and sensuous curves of that Kabar are like a dream come true!
...
You've got to watch out for Tim,
Paul. He's got a heart of gold. (He's also the chief shenaniganizer!

)
...
That's definitely a "word to the wise", Dean! (But I suspect Paul need not take a back seat to anyone in the shenanigans department!)
Toting this 3" Ohta drop point and a Boker Gent's knife in Thuya Burl and Damascus.
Happy New Year everyone! May you and yours have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
Beautiful knives, Gary! What's the blade shape on that Damascus Boker?
...
I am carrying the Northwoods Michigan Jack in Stag and Vic Cadet.
Nice stag! Carrying similar to you with a farmer instead.
Grand green Alox and superb stag, guys!
Thanks Dean, it's Desert Ironwood. Here's a shot of the other side. It's hard to capture the depth in a picture. Ironwood has a lot of variation between pieces. I like that these scales have both swirls and straight grain in them. It breaks it up nicely.
Wow, the ironwood covers are phenomenal, Jake!
So simple, so functional, so classic, so appealing!!
Been liking this new Buck Canoe a lot.

...
Congrats, Bloefield! That jigged bone Buck canoe is eye-catching and rather unusual (at least to me)!
Bit late posting today

Carrying these two, symbols like many of my knives, of the great spirit of friendship and fraternity of this forum

Splendid knives on their own merits, but your statement about what they symbolize rings true with my experiences here!
Ever since I polished this one up it has fallen out of my regular rotation, so I'm going to make a conscious effort to carry it more.
That's surprising and interesting, SSS; any idea why the clean-up knocked your marvelous Presidential out of your pocket?
Northwoods Stockman today
Smashing stockman, Jim!
...
Freshly stropped City Knife,
now I need something to cut
.
Knives in need of a job is the story of my current knife life, Tom! Great pic of today's duo (I call that black and orange combo your Detroit Tigers carry)!
This naked little Imperial Diamond Edge has been in my watch pocket all week.
