Lb8hLK.jpg

Thanks Paul, could it be rosewood (have to say I'm pretty clueless when it comes to wood), or cocobolo maybe? Nice-looking knife anyway

I like that a lot Jack, very cool knife

...

Thanks a lot Tom, a great pair you have there,. as always :)

Jack, I really like the tea pot kick. Great pics guys. I miss this thread. It's Friday so I'm carrying a cap lifter. I love these little knives, perfect for a watch pocket.
Recycled photo, couldn't get my phone to work right. Perhaps springs around the corner. We have a fresh blanket of snow here so it's it's pretty right now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Beauty! I've been eyeing an Ohta friction folder for a while, but love yours, nice.

I love that knife! It would be in my pocket everyday too!

Thanks, Gary! You have all the bases covered today. I like that little pen knife!

Thanks, Joe. Good to see you back on the porch! I do really like what Evan has done there! Very nice!

Got this little Ohta with me today, and most everyday, along with a few others that were posted in another thread.

Mr. Jack - you better have some strong pockets today, like I did yesterday ! I love the old Libert knife ! ;):D

Gevo - magical hawk !!! :eek::thumbup::thumbup::)

Going with a couple smaller knives today, both Primbles on polished granite:

Terrific knives everyone.

Thanks for the comments Jack, flatblackcapo and Tsar.

Great pair of Queens Tsar. Very nice 92 Kperla it's one of my favorite patterns. Primble. Simply Wow!!!

I'm carrying the 2010 Forum Knife and a Vic Director. Took the picture indoors as it's raining out.

Have a good evening all.

Three customs for me today.
These blades remind me to be thankful for the caring, supportive, generous people in my life.

“Reminder knives” are fabulous! The toothpick with the fish shield is really cool; are the covers some kind of “red stag”?

That Klein looks great with the elk you glued on!

…
And Gary, what can I say about this one that hasn't been said, other than it's not half rich...it's full on filthy stinkin' rich :)
…
:D:D Truer words were never written!

I'm carrying these two today

Amazing pair, Jack! (I’ve lost track of what day you actually carried them. ) Interesting kick on that spearpoint blade, and fantastic grain on the wood of that knife!

My new Case Sod Buster Jr. CV in Chestnut bone finally came in the mail today. I'm pretty excited since this is my first traditional slip joint, but I can tell now that it will not be my last. Has a nice snap to it and is very light in the pocket. It will make a good companion to my Grohmann #1 Canadian belt knife & Granfors Small Forrest Axe while in the woods. Here are a couple pictures I took with my cell phone, they're not great.

…
Congrats on the chestnut bone CV Sodbuster Jr! I’ve carried one just like that every day for more than a year now; I think it’s a remarkable knife!

…Thanks, Gary! You have all the bases covered today. I like that little pen knife!
…Got this little Ohta with me today, and most everyday, along with a few others that were posted in another thread.

Thanks, Gary. :) I don’t know how old my LF & C is, but it’s got to be one of the oldest knives I own. Your Ohtas always knock my socks off!

Gary - Thank you. :) Your OT reminds me of my grandfathers OT, meaning I really like it!
…
Today's carry! :D

Thanks, Ron; my 34OT and I are honored! :)
Looks like you’re carrying an all-business cutting tool!

…
Today's carry: Case Seahorse Whittler in caramel bone and CV, and my GEC #15 Huck Finn in antique yellow bone (sheepfot main, pen secondary)
…
GEC #15 Huckleberry Finn Boy's Knife in antique yellow bone
Both gorgeous, but for some reason the Boy’s Knife really grabbed me today - classic jackknife!!

…
This week I regrinded the primary grind of the main blade, because It was getting too thick behind the edge. Luckily the not so even scratches became invisible with patina from the fruit I cut daily for my son.
pics with a couple of wooden friends
What a beautiful edge for carving the small clip takes with the translucent arkansas.
By the way I was wrong and the knife is from 1979. Too much gunk on the tang I lost the dot :D:D

Mmmm! How many m-words do I need here? Magic is a great start, but I’ll add magisterial, magnificent, majestic, major-league, marvelous, matchless, memorable, mind-blowing, mind-boggling, mint, miraculous, monumental!:D:thumbup:

Carried these three to exercise and coffee with friends this morning .

Then back to the 73s for this afternoon

Harry
High-quality quintet, Harry!

Thanks, Gary. I like the look of that LF&C!

I usually carry one or two knives (not including my Vic Classic on keyring). A Presidential is always with me for the last two months. Frequently, I add another knife on a whim.
…
I carried this 83 along with the Presidential on my hike today.

Thanks, Dean. I suppose I should take more precautions with that celluloid LF&C than I do, but currently it’s such a pleasant little knife. :)
Jaw-dropping jigging on your 83!

Thanks, GT! More often than not I carry multi-blade traditionals, but I'm enamored with the sheepsfoot Case since I got it and that sweet swedged Queen 'pick is a statement knife in my favorite color. I may have to tote its green jigged bone cousin in the coming weeks, too. :D

Seems like that Imperial is emblematic of your love for your wife and what it has brought you, which makes it a priceless old knife regardless of construction.

Loving the color of the alox on your Vic. The LF&C has a ton of character, and those blades look like they're barely used. Your stable of Jokers is also outstanding. I am inspired to investigate (translated: "spend a bunch of money on") that make of knife.
…
That Hay'n Helper keeps trying to indoctrinate me into the cult of the sheepsfoot, yet I resist! :p
…
The RRs in this thread have definitely gone a long way towards completely reversing my opinion about their products. Thinking about the fit and finish on my sawcut RR Barlow at home, I suppose I should have known better. It's a solid, sharp (in both respects) little knife. I'm already addicted to the dogbone jack I keep seeing but can't even find in stock to purchase, and that mini-Barlow is almost certainly going to end up in my stable too, along with that swayback half-hawk from earlier in the thread. :p
…
Today I was accompanied by a pair of Queens (#19 "EO" trapper, #32 congress) in the RHP and LHP while the Wingen Barlow (not pictured here, it's already getting an ego from all the older pics) "rides watch".

…
Thanks for all the kind words, Tsar. :) Interesting what you say about “the cult of the sheepsfoot”. When I began my quest for knowledge of traditional pocket knives about 2 years ago, I knew nothing about all the blade varieties. I find the look of a sheepsfoot blade incredibly appealing, but I still haven’t learned to actually cut as well with a sheepsfoot as I can with a blade with belly. Not sure if that’s just my inexperience with straight-edge blades, or a limitation in the number of situations in which a sheepsfoot can function optimally. But, anyway, if you’re planning to pick up a RR half-hawk, you’re no longer resisting the sheepsfoot cult! ;)
You pair of Queens is definitely a winning hand!! What regal bone they both wear!

I like the teapot.
9HpuOIoo

Bruckmann over Robeson.
Gotta put a Bruckmann on my to-buy list!

I really like your LF&C pen knife GT .

Thanks, Harry. It would really go well with your LF&C box!

…
This pristine CASE XX #11031SH circa 1940-1964 arrived the other day, wonderful condition, still had cosmoline on the blades:cool:

Took a VERY keen edge. Most are clad in a medium finished Walnut, I cant say for certain but this does not appear to be Walnut to me? Cocobolo or Rosewood? Dare I guess ebony? Hummmm, or just a very dark Walnut?

Any insight from my brothers and sisters here is appreciated;)

…
Congrats, Paul!! Those Case “rope knives” are a very appealing pattern, and yours is an outstanding example!:thumbup:

Wow!! All of you guys n gals have fantastic knives, it's to hard to just single out a few. With that said here is my knife of the day... GEC 92 Eureka Jack by far my favorite pattern I can't get enough of them!!

Jack, I like that Boker Copperhead. Reminds of one my dad carried.
mitch4ging, I've been eyeing Ohta's friction folders. Make sure you show us if you get one!

I'm sporting these two today. Dan Krein Microchef in D2 and Micarta, and my Ken Erickson SBG, ATS-34. They go well together.

I must get round to updating that clasp knife thread at some point :)

Gorgeous pair Gary  . The micarta is beautiful.

Thanks, Tom. I meant to compliment you on that Bark River City knife and the Beer Scout. Nice! I've got to get me one of those little Barkies! I know I keep saying it!

Had this on board today, wanted to show it this morning but the Forum went down for a few hours it seems.

GEC 73 from the Cyclops Works which Glenn transformed into a single-blade for me, great work and now the knife gets used where before it just loitered about the house....
