What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Night time carry.

Both magnifique, Primble! Have we seen the Walden open?

The Fire Diamond for me today

That is one fiery knife Gevo. Is there a history on that piece/correlation between the name and the covers? They definitely look scorched :D

I admire your self-control, Tim! Gotta be hard NOT to carry that one!:D

When I have a watch pocket this week, this Schrade USA+ 93OT will be in it; when I don't have a watch pocket, the 93OT will be tucked into a whittling thumb guard in my left front pocket.

Haha I've whittled my selection to my top 20 now so it's a nice way to rotate all around.

Great looking coping on that Schrade.

Indian River Jack for me today. The black and the white.

The last few days of carries, assuming I can get anything to post on BF today. :grumpy: I shall try to add my comments to other posters after making this initial post, which seems to be required as BF works out some sort of bugaboo between their servers and Cloudflare's. If my responses never appear, it is because I am getting hit with the dreaded error 524 again.

Two phases to today's Stag Saturday. Morning:

This afternoon meant offloading the big fixed blade in lieu of this little fella:

Sunday was another lazy, hazy, crazy day. I only had my challenge knife pocketed and it never even put blade to material. It was a quiet Sunday.

Today's "back to work" knives. The Case tuxedo is my EDC Challenge knife for the week:

That is one fiery knife Gevo. Is there a history on that piece/correlation between the name and the covers? They definitely look scorched :D

It was a barn find from the Northeast and I just assumed it met some fire at some point in its life. Since its a Shapleigh Diamond Edge ...fire knife or fire diamond sounded like a good name for it.:D I really enjoy the knife and it has great walk, talk and snap. Thanks, Tim!!

The Indian River is a gem!! Cool pic as well!

Tom
Much appreciated, Sir:D:thumbup: Thank you

Super combo as always!!

I guess something about the quoted text (total length?) is really disagreeing with BF or Cloudflare. I had a complete bear of a time posting on Saturday well into Sunday morning, and that appears to be continuing today. I took some good advice and saved the text of my post in a text editor, so some of these comments are now days old, but I hope to eventually get them posted. :grumpy:

(It appears the only way to post things is to trim them to a certain limit, and an exceedingly small one, at least for me. Figure out what that limit is and you might be halfway to solving whatever problem is happening between Cloudflare and BF.)

Taking my favorite ladies out for a nice dinner tonight, these two fine knives are with me,

Drop point made by the one and only, Bob Loveless. Made the late 1970's, lignum vitae and 154cm. A trapper from the talented, Tom Overeynder, bullino engraving by the ridiculously talented, Brian Hochstrat. Gold pins and gold engraved shield. CPM-D2 and vintage Remington bone.

That trapper.

I've just filled my fourth, plus another model, a dozen or so cigar boxes, and various other boxes, drawers, cupboards, etc :o
...
Yet another early start tomorrow, and I already have these with me :) Have a great weekend everyone

Easy access to that Sheffield steel doesn't help, I imagine. :o

Great little Micarta sheath knife.

Replies, continued. :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

This fresh from the tube, single spring, square bolstered, ebony Muskrat.
Its a beautiful knife, no gaps or blade rub. Its just amazing to me how perfectly fine its put together.

Congrats, Jim!

Finishing up my first ever shield inlay on this NYKC barehead jack:
Need to peen the shield pin and then finish - hopefully the old bone won't crack !;):D:D:D

I got it finished without incident. I have peened proud pins with loose shields many times before, so I kinda knew how to peck the pin. I am happy with the new look of the old knife. The shield came off of an old New York knife that had missing bone on the mark side and had been laying in a drawer for more than a year. ;):)

Turns out you did some fantastic work. Nerves of steel, huh? A NYKC Primble knife! ;) :D

Was carrying this
Until this happened. Pretty sad about it.

Ugh, isn't it such a sick feeling? Time stops when something unfortunate is in the process of happening to a treasured knife. I know your pain. Time to dull it with a new acquisition. :p

Todays carries : Stag Saturday
My favorite Stags from Northfield , Case , and Tuna Valley ( only have 1 Tuna )

Spectacular stag as always, Harry!

Yet more replies. :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

Queen scout in buffalo horn and a big ole Barlow in osage.

Love me some Barlows but that buffalo horn Queen is really royalty. :)

Gave these to my groomsmen 5 years ago:
But since it's the "wood anniversary," I'm also carrying the bocote 25

Congratulations and happy anniversary! I wish I'd been among your groomsmen! :o

Oh, you know it! Or overalls, as the case may be. ;) Just looking through pictures to grab the ones I did, I was all, "Tascosas! I need to pocket a Tascosa or two!," and came very close to snagging the blue Northwoods as well, to keep the #38 trio intact.

It really is my favorite of the three, for the blade selection and the color of the bone (I like blue only a little less than green :D). Does the Wharncliffe have a particularly broad spine like the Case seahorse?

It's been a harsh week. Just puttering around today and carrying a Case teardrop in Trusharp and 6.5 bonestag.

I received that exact same knife (I believe) this week. Does it have a TB prefix on the pattern number? I assume that indicates it's a Bose design, though I wouldn't have guessed from the swedging or other usual clues. Still, it's quite a great knife for my first tearmdrop jack. Hope your weekend gets better, Frank!

Very nice knives today Primble and Gevo .
Have my 83s with me today

The Car On The Lake is still above water today even after the warm weather we had for 4 days. Still above freezing today though.

Harry

This is not how I wanted to get my post count up.

While my internet connection is unusually good today, the site is running slow for me, and pics aren't loading :( Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm carrying these two today :)

The recurring Cloudflare problem appears to be back with a vengeance. Dealer members are steaming in the tech Q&A forum. Perhaps there have been too many wonderful knives posted in this thread...

Congrats on the recent peanut coups, TsarB! You're showcasing some crazy crimson Cases lately!
My Taramundi has "scorched boxwood" handle, IIRC.
...
Time to start "revealing" the knives I'll carry this week. They include:
a stag bone stockman (thanks, Randy)
a Kutmaster GS knife
and a big Buck 2-bladed toothpick

Thanks, GT, I picked up one more last night that matches Mac pretty well. My Barlow addiction may be in trouble soon.

Me, too!
Also, this well-worn little Coke Bottle:

I imagine that Case didn't start off with that wicked Wharncliffe for a pen. :D Jonesing for an example of that pattern with the character yours has.

I have also noticed there have been a lot of red handled beauties in recent weeks. I have a number of blue and green handled knives but the only knife i have with red is a pretty subtle red bone, nothing like some of the vivid reds that i keep seeing. I think i will have to remedy that at some point. Anyway, running a couple errands and bringing this guy along. Hope everyone has a great day.

I generally prefer green (and, to a lesser extent, blue) but the old red is so classic and even the newer red looks good in most cases (see what I did there? :p ). Your #18 is a knockout, though - what does Case call that color, anyway?

Hopefully the last response!

Got this Schrade Barlow in my pocket today.

A fine example of that intricate scrolling on those Schrade bolsters. I've noticed they are awfully hard to keep really clean. :grumpy: I think maybe next week's challenge knife will be one of my neglected Barlows from this fine company.

Off over to Sheffield early in the morning, and I won't be back home until late :( Going to be carrying these two with me

No doubt you'll be returning with more knives than you leave with. :D

When I have a watch pocket this week, this Schrade USA+ 93OT will be in it; when I don't have a watch pocket, the 93OT will be tucked into a whittling thumb guard in my left front pocket.

That's an interesting set of blades on that bad boy. I have so much more to find in the Schrade world. :o

Night time carry.

Some beautiful red bone on that daddy Barlow. Who's the maker?

The Fire Diamond for me today

 That is one psychedelic folder. Talk about hitting the bone jackpot. Remingtons everywhere are jealous. :D

Very nice knives today Primble and Gevo .
Have my 83s with me today

More outstanding stag, Harry, but now I'm getting hooked on your updates about that rental car's fate. :D

Not exactly carrying them around town but the mora 106 was with me almost all day, helping me finish some orders.

Of course in my pocket the usual companion

It helped too with the tight corners of the spoon
Mateo

Lotta beautiful knives today. I went small and only carried this one.
