What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Both magnifique, Primble! Have we seen the Walden open?

Opened up for you - of course I meant the town, not the company. ;):D

I always love to get to see that fire knife - a wonderful relic my friend !:thumbup::)

The last few days of carries, assuming I can get anything to post on BF today.

Nice !!! :thumbup::)

Wow Primble that is a cool knife

Thank you Tom - as is your combination!:)

Turns out you did some fantastic work. Nerves of steel, huh? A NYKC Primble knife! ;) :D

If there were any nerves of steel, it was deciding to do it in the first place ! ;):D:thumbup:

Very nice knives today Primble and Gevo .

Thanks Harry - some fine stag to go with the updated car on the lake update. I almost sent you money the other day for a ticket, when the water was more visible ! ;):D:D:D

A knife to be proud of, Primble.

Thank you Dean and I am a little proud of that knife. Those two knives you posted compliment one another nicely !:)

Most excellent indeed and thanks for the look....wow! The bone is stellar!! Thank for the compliment on my relic, my friend:D

I carried this knife today. It looks a bit better now than it did in this particular picture because routine cleaning of the blade has removed some of the staining or patina as we like to call it. It's a boy's knife with knifebrite acrylic covers. It's a really good pattern for EDC.

Great black tie Viper!

Thanks Gev!:)

Yet another voluptuous Viper from the seemingly inexhaustible Half/Stop Collection!! ;) Congrats, Ron!

When I have a watch pocket this week, this Schrade USA+ 93OT will be in it; when I don't have a watch pocket, the 93OT will be tucked into a whittling thumb guard in my left front pocket.

Harry - Beautiful stag my friend!

Today I just felt like an Outlaw. ;) It is hard to beat a good Jack Knife. :)

I really like this #77 platform, and the Yankee Jack is my favorite. It's a great size, carries well in the pocket and can go to work or church. Really digging the Sunbrite acrylic too!

I received that exact same knife (I believe) this week. Does it have a TB prefix on the pattern number? I assume that indicates it's a Bose design, though I wouldn't have guessed from the swedging or other usual clues. Still, it's quite a great knife for my first tearmdrop jack. Hope your weekend gets better, Frank!

Yes, it does have a TB prefix. The Case Teardrop is a Tony Bose design.

I find the blade shape totally fascinating. I could spend hours just studying it. Come to think of it, I have.

Here are a couple of posts Tony made about it.
The blade is a Zulu spear that screams Schrade 1930s. It's as long as you can get it in that frame and get the point housed without it rapping the spring. Case does get it, they made that thing just like the protos I sent them.

Doc Hagens teardrop is from a pattern I gave him. We patterned it from a quill knife from the 1800s. I've made it in 4 different sizes. I started making the wharncliffe trapper in the middle 1980s, no one else had ever used that combination in a trapper and it's been copied a lot with my blessings. Charlie called me and ask if I cared if they did a WT forum knife and I said of course not. I draw the past, patterns which are gone. I'm not going to keep an eye on the forum knives so I can come up with something new.

Some great information, thanks Frank! I had puzzled over the blade which I came to know as a "quasi-Wharncliffe" due to the belly. I much prefer the "Zulu spear" term. :o It is a particularly handy watch pocket knife, and whenever I expect to have my 6.5 bonestag doctor's knife on me I usually pair it with the teardrop. Though it's not a custom or a collaboration, I like it that much more now that I know of Bose's involvement.

Carried my Boker rebuild project today. It started its life as an electricians knife. A week or so ago I ripped it apart and gave it a mild Glennbadding 😀

Ron.....I love your Stag 76. I was able to grab one yesterday and I can't wait to carry it! Plus it'll make a fine picture for Stag Saturday of course

The term and shape "Zulu Spear" was coined by Schrade in the 1930's
Here's a nice little blurb on it from Charlie (Waynorth)
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/603829-Zulu-Spear-blade

I appreciate the link as well, thank you (and to you as well, Charlie -- you are an absolute font of information). The "Wharncliffe" on my EDC Challenge knife, a recent Case tuxedo, has the tiniest of bellies to it. I always figured it was just sloppy grinding on the factory's part but now I am wondering if it took a cue from Schrade's design after all. Eh, upon closer review, I think it's just grind that resulted in a faint curve of the edge. :o

Looks more than mild to me. That's a pretty great revitalized Boker barehead now. I imagine the blade and pull are still substantial -- most of those milspec linesman knives are no joke to open -- but it looks like you've got a dead flush half-stop and some beautiful new pants, and that carbon steel should continue serving extremely well in its new configuration.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it has a very substantial pull. It's right up there with my Bullnose. It's like a bear trap

Thanks Jack, it was a beautiful morning today. Weather has been outstanding here lately. Can almost feel summer around the corner :)

That ancient of yours is looking phenomenal, really like the age on those steel bolsters

Thanks Jeff, hope the sun keeps shining for you :)

TGreat thematic photo, Jack!

Thanks Dean

Jack
Great carries for tomorrow and have a great day! Enjoyed all your pics these last few days!

Thanks a lot Gev

Both lovely

Always enjoy seeing that one my friend

Easy access to that Sheffield steel doesn't help, I imagine. :o

Great little Micarta sheath knife.

LOL! :D Thanks TB, Enzo Elver :) That's a great line-up of knives you posted

The Car On The Lake is still above water today even after the warm weather we had for 4 days. Still above freezing today though.

Loving the car saga Harry! :D

Ssssmashing! :D

Nice work

I'm off to see ADEE and ScruffUK today. Carrying my Watchpocket Barlow and a few knives I picked up in Sheffield yesterday :)

Looks like you picked up some very nice ones from Sheffield Mr. Jack !:)
