LOL!

Strangely the sun came out later!

My house is south-facing, so all the snow melted on my side of the street, but not on the other. I was explaining this to a young waitress later in the day, and when I told her we got the sun on one side of the street, but not the other, she wittily remarked "You must live where the rainbows are."

Early start for me tomorrow, but I'm going to be carrying these two

I think you must have a hidden pot of gold somewhere around there to be taking home all that Sheffield goodness.
That pen is becoming a fast favorite, I see. An excellent choice! I am enamored of the texture and the seamless look. I think thats the first bolster-less pen Ive seen that I didnt consider tacky or cheap-looking. A very nice Schrade, too. Am I off-track thinking the blades resemble the famous Camillus demo knives?
GEC 36 Sunfish.Coffeehouse Acrylic.
Beautiful fish, thank you for sharing! Ill bet that thing is an absolute beacon in strong sunlight.
Carried the 2012 PPP TC which opened up the box to welcome the new addition to the fold.
The Bose coffin jack is a real marvel but I will always have a soft spot for Charlows.
Nice Russell! I imagine that smooth bone lends itself to a lot of CF.
Tsar, congrats on the RR canoe; should have known you'd go for green!!

Is that a full-sized canoe, or one of RR's mini-canoes?
My Imperial canoe is a Chinese Taylor-made version, and I'm very pleased with its fit and finish; the brushed bolsters are stock from the factory.
I definitely had the Ganzo stockman and the ebony Keen Kutter with me today; all of my knives for the week get carried simultaneously ALL week! But I don't intentionally observe Wooden Wednesday; it just happens that if I have a dozen knives on me, frequently at least one will have wooden handles!

I happen to have another wood-handled knife I'm carrying today and this week, so I guess I'm even more welcome in the "Church of Wooden Wednesday"!

This Joker is my Euro knife for the week:
The grain on that Joker is fantastic, extremely classy!
The canoe is the typical ~3.5 single-spring. It fit perfectly in the watch pocket yesterday and the smooth bone makes an excellent worry stone.
Thanks; Tsar! I've contemplated a RR, and it seems most folks speak positive of them, for what they are. May give one a go.
For the price they seem to hit more than miss. Im rapidly becoming a fan of RR again, I recently received an acorn trapper with excellent F&F (though the master pulls like a bear -- for the last ~24 hours it's been sitting on my workbench oiled and opened to about 135 degrees in an effort to ease it up ever so slightly). It was intended to match the dogbone jack which I ordered with great anticipation. Sadly, the DBJ was the only real lemon RR Ive received lately. Im trying to arrange for a replacement with the acorn shield through the dealer which would give me a pretty nice notable pair for under $20.
The last coupla days, I've taken the Farmer's Jack out of the pocket slip where it usually lives with a small fixed blade (Patriot), and dropped it into my right front pocket nekkid. Hard-pressed, I've found myself wanting it near-er somehow.
When asked, I identified this Farmer's Jack as my
knife of 2015; I'd be shocked if its smaller blue companion here, received in early December '15, doesn't maintain its instant reign throughout all of 2016.
Not that I've put down the Farmer's Jack, yet.
The love you show to your FJ has me wanting one, although it will have to get in line as 2016 seems chock full of GECs I want to get my hands on -- Im already worried I may not be able to get the Coyote before they run out. I may need to start playing the lottery...
Have you considered commissioning a custom with a shield version of that owl charm?
Hope your Thursday is a good one! I am totin' these 2 today.
I like the duality there. Old and new, yin and yang, Frick and Frack.

An excellent pair of Barlows.
Complementing color schemes today. My new favorite carry, and "Old Faithful":
The blade configurations are complementary as well. I think youve got a notable pair there, regardless of the difference in texture.
Here are photos of some other knives in my pockets this week.
A Canyon Creek sunfish:
A Rough Rider whittler:
A Wenger Esquire:
The uniform jigging on that particular variant of RR covers always looks good, and Im generally more of a fan of the random jigging/texturing, like pickbone or Winterbottom. Even the color combination isnt something you find every day but it just works. I may be chasing down a few models with those scales in the near-ish future.
The fish is outstanding, too. It almost looks like tortoise shell acrylic from a certain angle, but I imagine its described otherwise in the promotional materials. Great photo, too!
With envy, Id say!

Brilliant composition and a pair of fantastic knives!
Rodgers Hawkbill and Case Eisenhower today
Is the Case bonestag or just the natural jigged bone? I imagine its the latter but due to the smallish surface area of the bone on that frame it might go either way. I like that Ike but the Rodgers steals the show. I dont think Ive ever seen a saber-ground hawk before and that is one of the more intriguing patterns Ive seen on a clamshell knife.
Today's carry: Ulster, Dwight, Divine and Sons Scout and Case Seahorse Whittler.
Another old/new combination, and two brilliant choices! The bone on that Ulster still looks marvelous even though not all of it is there any more, and the horse looks right at home on that table surface.
Id like to introduce my first post to the forum; technically my second. I was compelled to join in order for a KSF give-away. I was disappointed I couldn't get my image to display the way I hoped. Today I will try again. Forgive me if I am in the wrong place but here is my slip joint. I have a lot to learn so If anybody wants to comment I would appreciate it
Welcome to the porch, and thanks for sharing! That jack has some fetching handles, are they rosewood?
Have the Le Thiers with me today. I've been very keen on the Takeda folder as well. So a French and Japanese folders.
The Takeda is a real eye-catcher. The blade seems pretty stout for having what appears to be a fairly short saber grind. How do you find it as a slicer?
I'm carrying these two beautiful Northfield's today.
Hard to go wrong with a Barlow and a swayback, two excellent patterns. Very nice!
Feels like Ive got miles to go before I sleep today, and my cutters are acting more as stress-stones than slicers. Given that, I think I picked a pretty decent pair.
Happy Thursday, everybody!
